Tree removal no problem
Driving around BeUaire I sec a plethora of all varieties of trees, large and
small, some old and some newly planted. There are 14 in my yard. In a few, a
miniscule percent are removed due to new construction. One will hardly notice
and no doubt even nicer new ones will be planted to replace them. No problem.
Not to worry.

Bellaire
Ordinance against urban jungles?
I too am distressed by the indiscriminate removal of large mature trees in
Bellaire to make way for new construction (see Mrs. Grinzbarg’s letter in last
week’s Texan). But if we are going to trespass on the rights of private property
owners in this manner, then the city should also have a Tree Eradication
Ordinance to require the removal of trees and shrubbery from those homesteads
where owners permit their property to become like the jungles of Brazil rather
than the accepted urban residential setting.
