Down With Rain-
Hondo’s temperature took »
drop of almost twenty-five degrees
Wednesday as the thermometer
dropped from the 100 degrees
mark with a sudden rain.
Judge H. E. Haass reported a
total of .36 of rain for Wednes-
day afternoon, and said that Roy
Carter got more than a half-inchJ
on his place.

Two Are Injured
In Combine Work
-Two Medina Comity men—wf—
fered injuries the past week while
working with combines.
Robert Riff caught both his
hands in a machine, and was taken
to the hospital in Hondo where
the forefinger of his right hand
was amputated, and the first*
four joints of his left hand had
to be removed.
Riff caught his right hand
while combining, and caught his
left hand in attempting to free
himself.
In the Noonan-Pearson area,
Louis Stein caught a finger in a
chain on a combine and part of
his finger had to be amputated.
ADOLPH MANGOLD RECOVERS
FROM ATTACK BY BF|ES
CASTROV1I.L — Adolph Man-
gold was ill Friday afternoon after
he was attacked by a swarm of
bumble bees while at work.
He is now recovering from the
attack.

selves and their work. 'Bobby is

ing and selling range cows at a
profit. He has had range cows as
a project each year in high school,
and in one case carried a cow a>

sold her for $40 profit.

DEPUTY DISTRICT GOVERNOR
Edgar Stiegler, secretary of the
Hondo Lions, has been named by
District Governor Ed Price to be
District Deputy Governor.
In his new position, Stiegler
will sit on the governor's cabinet.
He will continue to serve as
Secretary of the local club.
