I was bothered a great deal by Ir-
regular passages of the kidney sec-

the top nnd back of my head and
I felt miserable lu every way. Upon
learning of Doan’s Kidney Pills, 1

PRICE OF COTTON GOODS
Cotton goods advanced last week
from 1-16 cent to 1-2 cent a yprd,
according to width and variety, or
about 1-4 cent average. At the rate
of a pound of cotton for five yards
of cloth, that would be at least a
cent a pouud In the value of the
raw material. But there waa uo
such udvauce, because cotton grow-
ers are without effective organiza-
tion to murket their product oppor-
tunely.
The orunge growers ui Caiuu>u!»
and Florida and the Burley to-
bacco growers of Keutucky have a
better way. With compact and com-
plete organization and with Intelli-
gent selling agencies they are en-
abled to command fair prices.
Russiuu cotton spinners are milk-
ing contracts for cotton at present
prices as far ahead as 1918; many
English spinners are contracting for
1914. They know that in all proba-
bility they will not be able to buy
at such prlceB for years to come.
Storuge In warehouses Is only a
part of the solution of the problem
of profitable prices. A greater part
Is the limitation of supply by reduc-
tion of acreage and an essential fac-
tor In any movement is the facility
for selling at the right time and
In the proper quantity.
The great number of cotton farm-
ers scattered throughout ten states
makes concert extremely difficult,
but it is not impossible. The Farm-
ers’ Union is sufficiently organized
to form the basis for a greater or-
ganization and with proper support
it can render a service of incalcula-
ble value to the whole South and
to the entire nation.
Meanwhile farmers should not re-
lax in the demand for cotton con-
sumption information at the haudB
of the federal government. They are
still selling in the dark while the
spinner is buying In the light. —I
