We just heard that Alex
Koteras is in Garrison
Nursing Home. He was
hospitalized on Novem-
ber 1 st for a staff infection
and then placed in the
nursing home. At first
they removed his big toe
and then his left foot. He
said that he was in quaran-
tine for a while but is now
able to received visitors.
He is in Room 205 - drop
by and see him. Get well
soon Mr. Koteras. We’ve
been missing you.
Lynn Hartt, thank you
for helping us get the Rio
Ad. Mrs. Adkison says
lots of people are telling
her they saw the ad in the
T&T News.
Our heart goes out to
Judy Ritter and family
on the loss of her mother,
Beatrice Hudman. She
will surely be missed in the
community.
Got an email from Da-
vid Shepherd giving a gift
subscription to Annette
& Herman Stoddard of
Thornton, TX. He said
“Annette (nee Wragg) is
my second cousin, born
and raised in Garrison,
and is married to Herman
Stoddard, elder brother of
Marion (Tutts) Stoddard
married to Judy Jones of
Timpson who now lives
together with Tutts in Gar-
rison. It has really been
brrrrr up here in your old
territory (Virginia)...we
do snicker when you com-
plain about it being 60 in
the old bank building.”
Thanks, Dave, for the gift
subscription the Stoddards.
I hope they enjoy the paper.
As to your laughing at our
misery, I remember wel
how cold it gets on the
East Coast, but cold is
relative. Down here, we
complain when it drops
below 50 degrees out
side. I’m ready for this
winter to get over with
I’ll try not to complain
about the heat this sum
mer. But if we didn’t have
the weather what woulc
we complain about??
I don’t know about
you, but I’m certainly
praying for the safety oJ
the athletes and visitors
to the Olympic games in
Sochi.
Keep my Sister-In-
Law, Shirley Samford
in your prayers as she
recovers from her spina
surgery. Also, David Fal-
lin who is recovering from
surgery.

TO BE PRESENTED IN TIMPSON
Have you ever wished you knew more about your ancestral roots and your
heritage? Now is the time to learn how to research them.
The Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society (TAGHS) will present a
FREE mini-workshop for beginning genealogy 9:30 - 12:00 Saturday morning
on February 15, 2014 in the Genealogy Room of the Timpson Public Library.
Pre-registration is necessary in order to assure space and resources for those
attending, with a limit of 12. Please call to register. Call 936-254-2966 and ask
for Genealogy during the hours of 10 - 5 Monday - Friday.
Knowledgeable volunteers will be available to guide you through beginning
genealogy. Many area families have already been researched. You can add
your family and perhaps will find part of your work has already been done. A
number of present day Shelby County families have been in the area since the
days of the Texas Republic with some here even before. Finding the past gives
the present new meaning.

will be presented.
