This is a summary of the answers to many questions that are being asked in onnection
with the San Antonio's HemisFair - 1968.
Some current questions deal largely in the areas of what will ha pen. To those ques-
tions there is no answer for none of us have that infalliblecrystal ball.
Time, energy, money, dedication ana sacrifice are the/6nly things that can insure
success. These have been given, and will continue to be given, by the group of dedi-

cated individuals who have made the community/interest preeminent by the daily sacri-
ficing of a part of their personal lives itZ its interest.
The names of the Officers, Executive Committee, Bord of Directors and Underwriters
appear on later pages. They have furnished the lead ship, the faith, the money and
the work that has brought this vast project to the ver edge of realization.
WHAT IS A HEMISFAIR?
The Latin prefix "Hemi" means half, which has led some "pun dits" to accuse the Fair
proponents of planning "half a Fair." It may be many things -tut it won't be half
of anything except a view of half the world - THE half, which, properly attuned, could
be that half ost influencing the future course of San Antonio's destiny as a City.
The Hemi air - 1968 will be half a world in\microcosm.
San Antonio's HemisFair - 1968 is a celebration of the 250th year of the founding of
San Antonio. It will be a festival - a fiesta. It will involve public ceremonies.
It will display the work, the arts, the crafts of all the peoples of the Western World.
It will bring together representatives of all of those peoples. It will be solemn -
