A wise old man once said to me, "I prefer to run in a herd by myself." He was no iconoclast no hermit
He was telling me, warning me, against the danger of conformity.
Everybody else did it, too, the little boy said when questioned by his father about certain
undesirable behavior. There is nothing inherently wrong about following the crowd if we pick the
right crowd. But some men and women march to a different and distant drummer and they prefer
to run in a herd by themselves.

Conformation to the world is where the danger lies, for the world is heartless and unfaithful to its friends.
Be not conformed to the world, Jesus said, "but be ye transformed by the renewing of your minds.”
