A Christmas Meditation
from Glasscock Chevrolet
At this season. Glassock Chevrolet Co. hopes you will remember the true
meaning of Christmas.
Sure, we get in the hustle and bustle of shopping, parties, visits, etc. - but
let’s remember that true giving should also include a sincere feeling of grati-
tude - gratitude for the greatest gift God gave to us at this season almost 2,000
years ago -
Give in gratitude and with a loving heart, realizing that God loved us enough
to send His son to us on earth in human form; the simple form of a baby, born
into our world, and 33 years later to sacrifice; this time with His own life -
We wish you a joyous season and encourage peace and good will toward men
Give, remembering that God also gave to us freely -
MERRY CHRISTMAS

IT’S THE LAW!
Did you know that a
woman cannot be disquali-
fied for a loan because she is
pregnant? That public assis-
tance benefits are consid-
ered income and cannot be
discounted when applying
for a loan?
Did you know that elderly
people cannot be denied a
loan simply because of age9
Or that a creditor cannot
require reapplication or ter-
minate an account because
of a change in the ap-
plicant's marital status or
retirement?
Did you know that if you
are turned down for credit
you have the right to know
why?
CUM1S Insurance Society,
Inc., thought you should
know the facts. You as a
consumer do have rights.
Consumer legislation is de-
signed to help, but, unfor-
tunately, many people do
not know or cannot keep up
with all the regulations.
As the world’s leading
provider of credit union
bund insurance, CUMIS is
doing something about it. It
has been conducting con-
sumer legislation seminars
designed to keep credit
union personnel abreast of

the latest legislative changes.
This way, consumers can be
assured of their rights when
they come to a credit union.
Last year over 1,000 at-
tended the sessions. This
year even more attended as
the seminars moved to such
places as New York City
and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A big bite
of budgets
Even though most of
us fear the sound of a
dentist's drill, we spend
approximately 10 billion
dollars a year for dental
care. The majority of
those billions are used
to Till the estimated 213
million cavities we
Americans suffer.
Ironically, despite the
fears and the high costs,
dental patients have had
little choice in Tilling
materials-there was
either silver metal or
gold inlay.
Often we've had to
end up with an embar-
rassing pinched smile
that conceals unsightly
metal. Now, that ugly
old look can be replaced
with a bright, flashing
smile and a hearty, op-
en laugh.
A new dental filling
that matches natural
tooth color and can be
used anywhere in the
mouth has recently
been introduced.
Called Profile, the
new dental product is
both cosmetic and
meets wear standards
for front and rear teeth,
a combination tradition-
al fillings never offered.
Metallic amalgam fill-
ings. used since the
early 1800s, set the
standard. But, they
were unsightly.
The need for esthetic
dentistry that also met
clinical needs, especial-
ly for front teeth, years
ago prompted dental
scientists and research-
ers to experiment with
plastics that could be
colored.
Acrylic or silicate
fillings were found to
meet esthetic needs but,
until now. did not have
the wear standards of
amalgams. Profile has
taken the next step.
Made from a unique
strontium glass filler,
Profile combines the
wear-resistance of amal-
gams and the color
shading potential of
plastics.
Developed by S. S.

international, a Division
of Pennwalt Corpora-
tion, the strontium glass
filler is not sensitive to
shock from heat and
cold or contact with met-
al.
The Profile formula-
tion is the first compo-
site to withstand five
years of clinical testing.
The tests, conducted by
a noted dental research-
er, Joseph P. Moffa of
the U.S. Public Health
Service Hospital in San

Texas Nuclear Waste
House Speaker Bill Clay-
ton came out in opposition
to storing nuclear wastes in
Texas and said the issue may

of thc officials who may se-
lect such a dump site.
Clayton said he didn't
think much of State Sen.

of building a nuclear waste

He also said last week the
IMKI Legislature will take a
hard look at tenure for col-

Tenure gives professors,!1'
in effect, a lifetime contract
if they satisfactorily com-
