KAREN MCWILLIAMS
Miss Karen McWilliams,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
E. S. McWilliams, it a
candidate for graduation
May 22 at Texas Christian
University. Harris College
of Nursing.
She was recently honored
by being chosen as a mem-
ber of Sigma Theta Tau,
National Honor Society of
Nursing. She was on the
Dean's List with a 3.7 av-
erage out of a possible 4.0.
Initiation for the Sororitv
will he April 25.
Her family and two
grandmothers are planning
to attend graduation cere-
monies.
February Savings
Bonds Sales
In releasing Treasury
figures. County Savings
Bonds Chairman J. L.
Werst. Jr., announced to-
day that sales of Series E
and H United States Savings
Bonds in Reagan County
during February totaled
$1,981. Sales for the two-
montli period of 1976 were
$7,870 for 39ft of the 1976
sales goal of $20, 000.
Texans purchased
$22, 615. 095 in Savings
Bonds during the month
compared to February 1975
sales of $20. 183,108.
Vear-to-date sales totaled
$46. 733. .195 for 17ft of
the yearly sales goal of
$272.4 million.
Buck Owens of Barnhart
has annbunced that a
special Match Roping will
be held Saturday, May 22,
in the West Texas Boys
Ranch arena between Jim
Bob and Mack Altizer of
Del Rio, and Tuffy and
Roy Cooper of Monument,
New Mexico.
The first match, in 1974,
was won by Jim Bob and
Mack with 140,7 seconds
on eight calves compared
with Tuffy and Roy's time
of 154.2 seconds. Last
year's match-up was won
by the Coopers' with a
96.6 seconds time over
the Altizers’ time of 115.3
seconds on eight calves.
There will also be a
$55.00, two calf open
jackpot roping, and a
$35.00, two go opern
barrel race. Trophy buck-
les will be awarded to the
top money winner in both
events, calf roper buckle
by M. L. Leddy and Sons,
and the barrel race buckle
by lirooky Broome In mem-
ory of Hardy Taylor.
I.ast year's calf roping
champion was Bobby Zesch
of Mason, with a 18.8
total time on two calves,
and the barrel race win-
ner was Vicki Johnson of
Snyder, with a 35.3 in
two go's.
There will be a beef
Bar-B-Oue in the M.S.
Doss dining hall from
11:30 A.M. thru 2:00 P.M.
at $2.50 per plate.
Amos Owens and Kenny
McMullan of lraan, will
be providing the calves,
Dorothy Duncan will keep
books, Jerry Don Baird
and lolm Kearney will
announce. Johnny Bonner
and Bill Upton will be of-
ficial timekeepers, I’am
Upton will be in charge of
the barrel racing. Ixmis
towers and Dan Taylor will
watch barriers. Toots Mans-
field. Walton I’oage and
Jim Prather will flag, and
Jackson Sparks. Joe Nanny,
and Max Horne will be
operating the back gate.

A Jesus Weekend
April 23rd - 25th
"A Jesus Weekend" is
set to begin Friday night,
April 23rd, at 7:30 p.m.
at the First United Metho-
dist Church. The series
of evangelistic services,
conducted by Jack Wolf
and Gary rreeman, will
continue Saturday and
Sunday. Both young men
are associated with the
Jack Gray Ministry in Evan-
gelism of Dallas.
Following the Friday
night service, there will
be an afterglow period at
9 00 p.m. with refresh-
ments served. Saturday
morning at 7 30 o'clock
there will be a breakfast
followed by a Vouth Rap
Session for everyone-youths
guests, counselors, teach-
ers. parents, pastor. At
12 00 noon Saturday there
will be a Burger Bash at
the County Park. A visi-
tation over town will start
at 100 p.m. Evangelis-
tic services are set for 7 30
p.m. with an afterglow at
9 00 p.m.
On Sunday there will be
a Youth Rap Session during
Church School hour. Morn-
ing worship Is at 10 50
a.m.. and a covered dish
luncheon will be served
at noon for evangelists,
teachers, pastor and youth
officers. At 6 00 p.m.
all youth, counselors,
teachers, pastor, and par-
ents meet at the church
for dinner. A Youth Rap
Session follows at 6 30.
Evening services will be
at 7 30 and an afterglow
follows at 9 00 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Buford
Rackley and family left
April 9th for an 8-day stay
In Marysville. California.
Accompanied by her moth-
er. Mrs. Mable Keller of
Marietta, Oklahoma.
They made the trip so that
the family could visit Mrs.
Rackley s sister who has
been very ill with a serious
bean condition. On the
return trip they encoun-
tered a freak snowstorm
while travelling across
the Arizona desert. They
returned home last Satur-
day.
The earth was once called
Gaea. or Ge.
and Master Magician. All
this is in addition to her
own specialty acts, but it
is all in fun and she emer-
ges smiling from each or-
deal.

Tim Warner was injured
in a fall from a ladder last
Sunday at the house he is
building at the corner of
7th and Florida. He was
taken to Reagan Memorial
Hospital, and Tuesday he
was transferred to Shannon
Hospital in San Angelo
where he underwent surgery.
It was not learned by press
time how he was doing, lie
is an employee of Marathon
Oil Co.
Ranch is located just off
US 67, 17 miles west of
San Angelo, at Tankersley.
