Of wterest to Marion
County Citizens
Gentlemen
The Commissioners Conrt at their
meeting on tbelStb selected yon gen-
tlemen the Connty Jndge and the un
designed as a committee to formulate
some plan to in some manner make
nee of the Court House and Jail build-
ings owned by the county situated
west of the Texas PacificBy tracks
This property as you all are well
aware is standing there unused and
going to destrnction
Tha best offer this Connty Conrt has
ever had for this property ia 200000
The Conrt did hot believe it advisable
to sell this property at this price be
lieving and feeling by the proper effort
and management that it conld be
tnrned so it would render the connty a
better price than this by establishing
some kind of an enterprise that could
use this property inpursuance of their
business
I would be pleased that each of yon
would give tbisxnaUeryour serious and
careful consideration andthatwe may
connt on yonr hearty and earnest co
operation in this matter Yon willsee
notice of this in the next issue of the
Jimplecnte and I would be pleased to
have a reply from each of you statine
yon will assist us on this committee
and be pleased to have yon suggest
about what date yon think it desirable
to call this meeting together If I sug-
gest a day for this meeting myself I
wonld say about March 11 at 200 p m-
at Judge Loomis office I wonld put
it off this far to give plenty of time to
giye everybody an opportunity tc talk
this matter over and hope each mem
bar will discues it as fully as they can
both out of town and in tbwn before
the meeting ofUhat committee How
evei I do not wish you to be governed
by what I say in regard to calling the
committee tozether
Thanking you in advance for an
early reply Very truly yours

25000 may be Baid to coralize
with the spirit that made it possi-
ble for the Senates to vindicate
Senator Lorimer and if the at-
tempt did not succeed it was not
because a majority of the Senators
were restrained by concientions
scruples but because they lacked
the courage to do openly what
they would have been willing to
do turruptitioualy The item
which Senator Culberson ydiseov
ered read To pay William Lori
mer in disbursement of expenses
neceBsafily incurred by him in
defense of his title to seat in the
Senate 25 000 No one knew
whether Lorimer had spent 25
000 or 2 500 there was apparent
ly no itemized biH whatever
The liklihooi is that the 525000
was intended to pay not merely
the expenses of the contest but
the cost of the votes which put
Loiimer in his seat Thus having
condoned the bribery by which
Lorimers election was accom-
plished it was proposed that
