musicale in honor of her guests Miss
Huffmaster of Galveston and Miss
Dcmnan of Austin The double par-
lors were seated in concert style
Tube roses and summer Toses fur-
nished the decorations with ferns in
the back parlor Miss Gooch was as-
sisted by her mother and honorees in
receiving her guests Master Taylor
Bennett passed the pretty programs
Every piece was appreciated and en-
cored and the seconds were just as
fine as the first Mr Hu Huffmaster
is superb in his baritone He carries
hishearers with him as he enters in-
to the soul of the song Miss Huff
master in her sweet soprano is fine
and in the duett their voices were
as rippling waters raeetng in a beau-
tiful brook and flowing on together
charming their hearers Miss Jettie
Colley delighted all with her sweet
v olin music as did Miss Morris in
her piano selections Miss Elizabeth

porch was an ideal spot under a
large Japanese umbrella a beautiful
punch bowl stand was surrounded in
flowersemd delicious punch served by
Misses Eloise Hodges and Camille
Head They were as pretty as the
yellow daisies nodding from behind
the punch bowl Miss Marguerite
Hill asssted the hostess in receiving
her guests and soon the tables were
fill vith interested players Misses
Jane Jackson and Lucretia Hodges
passed the pretty tally cards which
bore pansies thats for thoughts of
Louneita and her party At the close
of the pretty summer afternoon and
tne close of the games Mrs A B

Hodges of Mexia served an elegant
luncheon a salad course followed by
cream and cake This was one of the
prettiest affairs of the week

picnic given by the Baptist Sunday
school teachers and officers to the in-
termediate and primary departments
of the school Thursday afternoon
Those people of the vacation trip
packed their trunks and got ready to-
go Leaving home they went around
blocks and squares finally arriving at
their own back gate and yard put up
tents and camping outfit and enjoyed
a few most delightful days right in
their own yard It was a fine thought
to have the picnic on the lawn just to
the southeast side of the Sunday
school rooms Everything was ar-
ranged for it Chairs and benches
were more delightful than seats on
the ground in the woods Ice lemon-
ade furnished delicious drink also ice
water The children played and the
teachers helped them in their play en-
joying everything Surreys and bug-
gies broughtthem to the picnic ground
and they went round and round blocks
until they felt that they were going
way off A delightful picnic luncheon
was spread and all seated in their
chairs around the festal board were
served the greatest abundance of the
choicest of the land followed by peach
cream and cake of all kinds It was
a glorious picnic

The reception tendered by the
Knights of Columbus to the Catholic
congregation and their friends on
Thursday night was a most enjoyable
affair to all attending Delicious ice
lemonade was enjoyed all evening
