in a delightful informal manner Wed-
nesday afternoon at four oclock lunch-
eon The guests were asked to bring
their fancy work On entering each
was invited to the parlor bright in
the adornment of chrysanthemums
An hour was passed in work Pretty
things for Christmas were created and
more discussed At the close of the
hour the dining room doors were
thrown apart and all invited to lunch-
eon which was elegantly served in
six courses The center piece was a
bank of exquisite yellow chrysanthe-
mums surrounded by autumn leaves
from the woodlands The place cards
were handpainted in autumn leaves
Every detail suggested the passing of
summer and advent of winter joys

The dining room was charming in
gorgeous yellow chrysanthemums
The color scheme here was white and
yellow The center piece was espec-
ially attractive a beautiful wreath of
yellow chrysanthemums on a large
mirror plateau carrying out the idea
of unbroken friendship The place
cards were in handpainted thangsgiv
ing turkeys attached to each was a
single yellow chrysanthemum The
dinner was elegant in six courses and
exquisitely served Miss Stevens
was assisted by her mother and sis-
