Ono of the prettiest of homo wed-
dings was celebrated at the home of
the brides parents Mr and Mrs J
S Cohen 324 North Seventh street
Wednesday afternoon at 230 Sur-
rounded by admiring friends and rela-
tives of the bride and groom Mr Gus
tav Sachs and MIbs Bessylo Cohen
were united In marriage Rabbi M
Faber of Tyler
performing the cere-
mony As a prelude to the wedding
march Miss Sadie Frledlander In her
own beautiful way sang Because
after which the
wedding march was
played by the orchestra The rabbi
led the way followed by the groom
accompanied by his best man Mr Abe
Cohen Then came the ringbearer
Master Soller Cohen in spotless white
Next came the brides younger sister
Robg accompanied by her mother
Closely following came the maid of
honor Sarah Adelle
Cohen carrying a
bouquet of pink rosebuds Little Miss
Marie Conroy the flower girl carried
a basket filled with fragrant roses and
scattered them in the path of the
bride The bride never more beauti
b ful came in on the arm of her father
and met the groom in waiting The
sacred rites were performed by the
rabbi in a very Impressive manner and
the service was listened to with rever-
ent attention At the conclusions of
i the service to the joyful strains of
k Mendelssohns march the bridal party
and friends repaired to the lawn
where congratulations were received
and refreshments served Misses Han-
nah Friedman Sadie Koller and Rosa
Cohen presided at the punch bogl
Numerous telegrams and cablegrams
were received and read during the in-
terval The happy couples leaving
was signaled by Bhowers of rice and
other tokens of good luck bestowed by
well wishing friends They left on the
Limited for an extended stay at Sara-
toga Springs New York City and other
points As evidence of the young cou-
ples popularity they were the recipi-
ents of a large number of beautiful and
costly presents among which was an
elegant silver tea service monogram-
med and a chest of silver flnives and
forks presented by the employes of
Jfc Sanger Bros for whom Mr Sachs Is
the manager of the ladles readyto
wear department The house and lawn
were prettily decorated for the occa-
sion with palms and ferns entwined
with pink and white Mrs Neill Mc
I Cann Mrs M Compton and Mrs C
Huggonsmith received the guests The

brldo was simply arrayed in a tan trav-
eling suit with hat shoos and glovos
to match and carried a beautiful bou-
quet of roses with the shower effect
in white moline and ferns The groom
and best man wero dressed in conven-
tional black Tho maid of honor Miss
Sarah Adelle Cohen wore a white em-
broidered net robe over pink The
brides younger sister Rose wore a
white lingerie over blue Mrs Cohen
wore an elaborato black silk marqui-
sette dress over kings blue satin The

for Mr Sachs and his fair bride
Miss Gertrude Block has returned to
her home in Galveston after a two
weeks visit at the home of Mrs I
Block Mrs Julia Hyman an-
nounces the engagement of her son
Harry to Miss Mary Stolaroff of El
Taso Texas The exact date of the
wedding has not as yet been set but
will take place some time in Decem-
ber Miss Stolaroff is one of El Pasos
most popular and accomplished young
ladies and is the daughter of Mr A
Stolaroff a pioneer citizen of El Paso
Tho contracting couple will make
Waco their home
Mr and Mrs A Stolaroff of El Pabo
announce the engagement of their
daughter Mary to Mr II Hyman of
Waco Mrs J Alderman and Miss
Goldie are In Petoskey Mich and in
letters home they speak of how de-
lightfully cool it is After a few weeks
they will continue their way to New
York City for an early fall visit Mr
Ike Strauss is in his old home Mont-
gomery Ala Mr Strauss reached his
home in time to assist the family in
celebrating his mothers eightyfourth
birthday This was a very happy event
and the friends of the family rejoice
with them
