vast and magnificent, the greatest of

the manner in which the Bib-
lical account of man s creation
fit* into the picture, and how

first passage. Stub qualities* as

sion, bis speech, intellect, con-
science, freedom of will and
a bitty to discern good and evil
-the.»e qualities set man apart
from other creatines and must
reflect his God-uke image
The poetic and prophetic in-
terpretation of the account of
mar, s creation is found in the
Eighth P»alm. It seems designed
to emphasize the extra good-
ness of man himself above ail
other forms of creation, Re-
gardless of the greatness and
magnificence of nature, man is
greater , man, the moral part of

and thought to that part of his
life.
Augustine speaks of a »ect
in his time called Euchites, or
Prayer-men, who simply prayed
for everything they wanted,
and exerted no effort to obtain
it. This is far from Christ's
meaning. God helps him who
helps himself."
On th« other hand, we all
know people who cannot ever
enjoy the beauty of the moment,
because they are forever plan-
ning and thinking for the mor-
row.
In the passage from Hebrew*,
verses 14 and 3 7 are particu-
larly telling. In Christ, Who
lowered Himself to mans sta-
tus. mail reaches his ultimate
fulfillment and perfection.
Thro .gh His redemption we can
hope to live in God ■ image

IN TIMES LIKE THESE
There arc sonie people I fear. Not that they will do me bodily harm nor
dial they uill roh me of my money I just fear their influence. Number one of
tin> e I fear is the fananlic. Die radical whelher he he fanatic in religious,
politic al or moral views. It i. jii't not ^afe to follow noi' to be in eompany
v. ith one who js a fanatic . : Above all., "In Dme.s like these'1 we Go not need to
be guided nor influenced by one who is so extreme that his opinions and 'ead-
ershin is not sound.
The Scripture says,§'.'The fool says in his heart. There is no God" If I may
paraphrase that statement. "Die fool says in his heart, we are not in trouble'
He are in trouble' Serious trouble from whic h we may not escape with all we
now have. War could be so close and how dreadful it would he. The crime rate
in U S A is increasing year by year. The. Church does not have Die voice it
should have and that it ought to have Entirely too many people just ignore
the Church and Its message. We. have educated our youth to where he thinks
he needs entertainment all time and has forgotten (or never knewi how to
entertain himself.
"In times like these" we heed to think sanely, soberly and clearly. We
need to be prepared, to be sure. Whatever we may fare Tomorrow . we mint
prepare for today,
Go to church next Sunday and there humbly and sincerely ask the I-ord
to lead you and equip you foi what may he tomorrow. You will find cunsoEifipii
