Togethemess Is Theme
Of Modem Day Circus
In tlie year 1861. there were
lit) railroad accidents and 26
steamboat accidents in tho U. S.,
fill of sizable proportions.
Tiie true Circus performance is
pointed to the happiness of the
"Kids." That, of course, covers
(ho young in heart from 2 to 102
Because tiic Clivus'draws its tans
from the younger set and the
"Big Ones." wlvi refuse to let
I lie years dim the happiness of
youth, it is always clean enter-
tainment. Other forms of public
entertainment may lower their
stadards in a frantic hope'.of .lur-
ing additional customers, throu-
so called "sophisticated''
shows.” But, the great showmen
of the Circus, management and
performers alike, continue to pre-
sent entertainiment that every
member of the family can see
and love.
Glamour Yes. in the form of
beautiful costumes and lienutiful
girls. Thrills? Yes. in presenting
athletic feats and death defying
acts found nowhere else. Fun'.’
Yes, no one in the great realm
of show business has that special
place in the heart of the young and
old that's reserved for the Cirrus
Clown. Never does the Clown de-
pend on sex or smut for patron-
age, thrills or laughs.
You've Ivrard the cynics say,
"K\ory (iicus i> alike*. When
'you've.seen one. you’ve seen them
all. ’ Of course, this 'isn't true.
New acts ate constantly being in-
troduced from talent coming from
the far reaches of the world. Each
performance is different from the
one just finished, or the one to
come. But. suppose the Cirrus is
basically the same. So is apple
pie. So is eating turkey dinner
with relatives on Thanksgiving.
So are the candles around the
Christmas tree. So is attending
the church of your choice. But
they're all rlean, wholesome,
American Tradidiions our fathers
before us have loved, and gener-
ations to come will continue t >
cherish. And. too, the Circus has
its special place, with these tra-
ditions by lightening the rare of
the oldsters anil bringing never
forgotten smiles, and tin ills to
put* young America.
Carson & Barnes, America's 3rd
largest wild animat Circus. is
proud of the'tradition of the "Big
Top." Clean entertainment for
tire Amerii an family. Never do
you need he ashamed to bring
your i hiklren to the cleanest of.
