Bowie readies Rodeo
Continued from Page 8
and Little Miss
Horsemanship Contest at the
Bowie Rodeo Grounds. The
42 tournament will be held
again at the Bowie Senior
Citizens Center. There’s
free admission at the Bowie
Swimming Pool and all the
children’s events such as the
pet parade, frog jumping and
turtle races will all take place
at the Bowie Community
Center. Some come in out of
the heat, ya’ll! There’s a lit-
tle something for everyone!
The mutton bustin’ com-
petition will be held during
the performance this year,
not before. Please keep your
eyes on our website and we
post updated information on
those details as well.
So much is going on
Saturday! The parade will
start again at 10:00 AM. If
you haven’t sent in your
parade application there’s
still time. Applications can
be found online on our web-
site.
Don’t forget the ham-
burger feed that follows!
Best burgers around! A
jackpot team roping will be
held that morning at the
Bowie Rodeo Grounds this
year. Stay tuned to the web-
site as details will be posted.
The Horseshoe
Tournament has returned as
well as the Artifact and Quilt
Show.
Grand Entry starts at 7
p.m. and our new 2014 Miss
Jim Bowie Days and Little
Miss Jim Bowie Days will
be crowned. Rodeo begins
at 8 p.m. ft’s Tough Enough
to Wear Pink Night and a
percentage of tickets sold for
this performance will be
donated to the Texas
Cowboys Against Cancer.
Immediately following the
rodeo, scoot on over to the
Bowie Community Center
and enjoy a live performance
opened by Mike Ryan fol-
lowed by Bleu Edmondson!
