GEL AND SURROUNDING
AREA:
At the regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of
Megargel, Texas, on July 11,
1972 the following ordinance
was passed:
“Becoming effective on Aug-
ust 1, 1972, a charge of $1.00
will be added each month to the
water bills to help care for the
City of Megargel dump ground.
As of that time, the gate at
the dump ground will be locked
except on Friday and Saturday
of each week. On those two days
someone will be at the gate to
tell you where to unload your
trash. People who are not on the
city water line will be required
to pay a charge of $1.00 per
load at the gate. No car bodies
or dead animals will be allowed
in the dump ground. No one will
be allowed to pilfer or remove
anything from the grounds.”

Mr. and Mrs. W. A Scheller
of Archer City announce the
birth of a great-grandson born
to Mr. and Mrs. Randy Scott
in Drumright, Okla The infant
tipped the scales at 6 lbs. 8
ozs., and was born Sunday, July
9 at 2 p. m. there. He has been
named David Wayne.
Mrs. Scott is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Swinea of
Drumright, former Archer City
residents. David’s paternal
grandmother is Jean Scott also
of Drumright. Great-grand-
parents include the Schellers
and Mrs. Etta Jo Swinea of
Wichita Falls.

Tarr Reunion
Held Sunday
Six of the eight children of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H.
Tarr met Sunday at the Ameri-
can Legion Hall in Archer City
for their annual family reunion.
Approximately 40 family
members were present Includ-
ing Mrs. Mary Anderson of
Weatherford, Mrs. Arthur Love
(Della) of Quitman and her
daughter, Nancy Lyon of Flori-
da, Mr. and Mrs. James Tarr of
Guthrie, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Tarr of Henrietta, Amy Walker
and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Moore
(Ruth) and Danny of Archer City.
Mrs. Lyons was recognized
as traveling the greatest dis-
tance to attend the reunion

by. Ohio, spent a few days the
first part of this week with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A.
(Pop) Killian in Archer City.
The doctor had attended a con-
vention in Denver, Cola, and
will return to his home following

Mrs. Ross Davis was hostess
to Baptist Women of Faith Mem-
orial Baptist Church, Tuesday,
July 11 at 7:30 p.m. as they
met for their monthly mission
program and business session.
Mrs. FI K. Petty, president,
introduced the program topic,
“Missions and Crises of Popu-
lation Change.” Mmes. Petty,
G. D. Harris and J. W. Stur-
geon presented the program in-
formation by playing Knic, Knac
Know, a game centering on
population movements in East
Asia and showing how missions
has responded to these shifts.
One result of the population
shift in Japan is the “Doughnut
phenomenon." This means that
the large cities are losing popu-
lation to the suberbs in a way
simlliar to that in the United
States. The combined population
of the suburban areas of Tokyo
totals nearly 13,000,000 more

Windthorst Independent School District will be in session Mon-
day, July 31, 1972, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the high school

value of any and all taxable property in the said Windthorst
Independent School District, until such values have finally been
determined for taxable purposes for the year 1972, and any and
