Scotland Mothers Society
Honors 50 Year Members
The Christian Mothers So-
ciety of Scotland celebrated
their 60th anniversary Monday
evening at the Community Home
with Rev. Bertin Roll, national
director of the Archron frater-
nity of Christian Mothers, of-
fering mass. Rev. Roll is from
Pittsburg, Penn.
Fifty-year members Mrs.
Elizabeth Hoffman, Mrs. Mary
Meurer and Mrs. Bill Morath
were honored during the cele-
bration. Mrs. Robert Krahl,
president of the local society,
presided and outlined the
purpose of the Christian Moth-
ers in which the members strive
to give their children Christian
upbringings.
Mrs. Albert Hilbers, secre-
tary, read a history of the
Society in which she cited its
origins, its contributions to the
Church and community and its
Rev. Roll told his audience
th?‘ the proper discipline of
' -Idren brings about respect
and love. To prove his points
he quoted from some original
essays by children about their
parents. He also congratulated
the Society on its accomplish-
ments in 60 years.
Other officers of the Society
include Mrs. Lloyd Schreiber,
vice president; Mrs. Richard
Krahl, treasurer; and Rev. Cle-
tus Post, chaplain.
Door prizes were drawn for
various age groups. Coloring
books were given to child-
ren up to 10 years and were won
by Jason Hoffman, WL1 Stall-
'mp, Doug Stallcup, Kay Ann
Schreiber, Katha Jackson, Ja-
red Hoffman, Klint Jackson,
Randy Stallcup. John Mark
Hoff and Kathy Frerich in the
10 to 18 group received books

broaden members’ knowledge of
the world around them, and a
new emphasis on the mature
student with elimination of old
attitudes toward pledgeship.
Phi Mu has eliminated the
word pledge from its vocabu-
lary and instead refers to the
uninitiated as provisional mem-
bers. New members of the Tex-
