The Scotland Home Demon-
stration Club met at the home of
Mrs. Joe Krahl on January 14th
with seven members and five vit-
itora present. Mrs. Blocker, home
demonstration agent, gave an
interesting demonstration of
meatless menus and meat sub-
stitutes. —Reporter.

Wichita Falls Hospital for sev-
eral days last weak for treat-
ment.
Mrs. Raymond Meurer and
son of Henrietta spent Sunday
in the Martin Wilde home.
Mr. ard Mrs. C. F. Meurer
were guests of the Edd Otto’s at
Wichita Falls last Sunday.
Dinner guests in the Tony
Hoff home Sunday were the
Ernest Hofls, the Alfred Berends
and the Fred Schroeders.
The FelixFrench’s are putting
a two room addition to their
home. The carpenters are

home on a ten-day furlough.

The Blessed Virgins Sodality
met for its monthly meeting

Is now in progress at the As
sainbly of God Church under the
direction of Evangelist and Mrs
Halbert Allen from Vera, Texas.
Everyone is invited to attend

service Saturday night ia which
several of the Sheppard Field
soldiers will take part.

The Windthorst Home Dem-
onstration Club met at the
home of Mrs. Rose Zihlman on
Tuesday, January 19 at 2:30.
Plans were made to have a
white elephant sail at our next
meeting. Meatless Menus was
the demonstration given by
Mrs. Emma Lou Blocker, and
she made a baked bean dish and
a rice-peanut loaf which was
enjoyed by the members.

as it is, is extremely proud of its 40
service stars. The most recent con-
tributions to Uncle Sam’s service
are August Beumhardt, Jr., who is
with the Coast Guard at Manhattan
Beach, N. Y., and Joe Flarity and
Joe Meurer who are at the U. S.
Naval Training Station in San Diego.

Pvt. Richard Simmons recently
apsnt a week-end leave with his mo-
thor and other relatives and friends.
He is now stationed at Camp Wol-
tars.
Pvt. Hugo Teichman, formerly with
tha U. S. Army, has received an
honorable discharge and is now back
home with relatives and friends.
Pvt. Edwin J. Birkenfield was rec-
