FRIENDLY 4-H CLUB
The Friendly 4-H Club met in
the Holliday High School at 3:40
on Jan. 21, 1952. The meeting was
called to order by Glenda Cape-
hart. It was followed by the 4-H
pledge and motto. Betty Robert-
son called the roll. Nine members
were present. The meeting was
turned over to Mrs. Jack Robert-
son. We talked about garden and
landscaping. There is a contest
that eome of the girls are enter-
ing. Here are the names cf the
ones who are sure: Betty Robert-
son, Nancy and Joy White. These
girls do not know: Kay Yynne
Johnson, Ophelia Tidwell, Pauline
Provence and Frances Furrh.
The next meeting is to be Feb.
4, 1952; bring your skirt or dress.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Page were the
happy recipient* Wednesday of a
telephone call from their son, Billy
Page, who had just arrived in San
Francisco from the Philippine Is-
land*. He had only recently been
transferred there from Japanese
waters. Billy has been in the Nary
about 16 months.
Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Spradlin of
Megargel were Wednesday over-
night visitors with their daughter,
Mrs. T. L. Hilton, and husband.

Claude Harris home were the
lady’s brother and wife, Mr. and
Mrs. John Coats, of Emory. Tex.
The two couples spent an enjoy-
able day Sunday visiting kin at
Deer Creek.

over Wednesday from their Scot-
land ranch home.

Mrs. R. M. Burkhart is visiting
in Lufkin, Tex., with her sister.
Joe Hoff cf this city was among
the multitude of Fat Stock Show
visitors Sunday in Fort Worth.

Paul J. Himmels of Windthoret
is one of the recent area inductees
into military service, according to
an item in a Wichita Falls paper
last week.
A son was born Friday in
Wichita Falls hospital to Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Schreiber of Windthore-t.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Frances of
Fort Worth were week-end visit-
ors with the lady’s folk. Postmast-
er and Mrs. Z. T. Burkett and
Zack Wetter.

Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Pender-
grass of Oakland, Calif., visited
last week with his brother, Henry
Pendergrass, and family in this
city where the visitors are former
residemts.

Mrs. P. J. Huke of this city
and Miss Adele Furr of Olney vis-
ited last week in Wichita Falls
and Henrietta.

Week-end visitors in the G. B.
Purcell home were their sons and
families to include Att’y. and Mrs.
Graham Purcell. Blaine and Kirk,
of Wichita Falls and Mr. and Mrs.
John Purcell and Cindy of Cle-
burne, Tex.

Postmaster Z. T. Burkett is con-
valescing nicely at his heme from
recent severe illness and, quote,
“Will be back on the job Monday.”
He has been incapacitated the past
month since blood vessels in his
legs ruptured.

W. E. Lloyd, Texas Company
gasoline plant employee, is being
transferred soon from the plant
a few miles to the north of this
city to the company’s plant at
iSnider, Tex. Lloyd does not know
yet just when he is to move.

at her home in this city after re-
cent hospitaliatizon in Wichita
Falls.
Mrs. Eula Paul is just up and
cut after a week’s seige of flu.
