r«oy!e Hannah arrived last week-
end from Bakersfield, Calif., for a
week’s visit with his parents, the
Charlie Hannahs, and his son, Billy
Ray Hannah.

Mrs. John Blackman and infant son,
Joseph Andrew, were removed to
their home this p. m. from Olney,
doing splendidly.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Threet attend
ed funeral services held Wednesday
in Noeona for Johnny Tayicr, car
accident victim of Monday. Wife of
the deceased is Mrs. Threet’s niece.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wingo were
up this p. m. from Olney, in quest of
a cook for their eating emporium in
that city. They found him in the
person of OdelJ Hannah.
Mrs. George Gaulden and rnfan
daughter, Janice Ann. were brought
home Sunday from Wichita Falls and
are both reported doing splendidly.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jacques and son
recently moved from this city to
Megargel where Bob is operating the
Conoco Service Station and cafe.

Hollywood's latest great lover is
Andy Dsvine. He admits it himself.
Devine, Who has spent 18 years
collecting a tan at Universal Pic-
ture's expense, is appearing in “Fron-
tier Gal,” the outdoor saga to show
at the Royal Sunday and Monday
with Yvonne De Carlo and Rod Cam-
eron in starring roles.
What’s more, Andy has a couple
of love scenes with Yvonne. Those
Idve scenes are out of this world.
They did one sitting on a rivei
bank at Bishoip, Calif, When the
scene was completed. Director Charles
Lamont heard Andy say, “Do you en-
joy doing love scenes with me?"
"Oh, I do," responded Miss De
Carlo, “every bruise of it and who
f
come in handy.”
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Horany return-
ed Monday to their home in Cushing,
Okla., after a week’s visit in the
Mitchell Horany home in this city.
They were accompanied to Cushing
by Ted Rawlins, local Acme Venetian
Blind Co. manager, who went on to
Tulsa fog a visit with his home-folk.

Mrs. J. W. Wisdom has returned to
her home in Lubbock after spending a
week in this city with her daughter,
Mrs. Pete Stoneman, who has been ill.
Mrs. Stonemhn is improved a* pres-
ent.

Travis Ray and son, Albert Loyd,
of Wichita county, were Archer City
visitors today.
Mrs. C. A. Montgomery is leaving
this week fdr Kermit, Texas, where
she will reside until spring with her
daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs.
C. F. Norris.

P. H. Neville, of Cleveland, Okie,
was a recent visitor with his asss,
Norman and Jim, on the Neville ranch
near Holliday. The three were county
seat business visitors Tuesday.
Edwin Koetter, of Windthorat, waa
among today's county seat visitors.
Mrs. W. H. Taylor’s condition is
believed to be remaining about th#
same for the past two weeks. She
has been in a Wichita Falls hospital
since December 16. Her former nurse.
Miss Alice Knight, of New Orleans,
La., is expected back here soon t»
resume her nursing of Mrs. Taylor
in the Taylor home here.
Mrs. Victor A. Cole and small son.
Dickey, are visiting in the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Hiomer Parsley, parents
of Mrs. Cole, arriving Tuesday night
via Trans World Aiilineg from Pitts- |
burgh, Penn. They plan on staying
four to six weeks when Mr. Cole
plans to motor through for a return
trip. Eight-monht-old Dickey, whom
his grandparents had never seen, re-
ceived a great welcome upon arrival
(Let's hope he doesn’t turn cowboy |
before returning to Pittsburgh).
Sheriff A. H. (Dutch)- Gosler shew-
ed us a telegram Tuesday morning
which stated that his son. Jack, had
arrived safely in Jacksonville, Fla.,
Monday and had already found his
friend, Joe Reubar, business partner
of Jim Neville. Jim and Joe are in
cahoots on some race horses Which
are. in their opinions, tops. Jack left
here Saturday.
Now that students are bade in school follow-
ing the holidays, sec that they have a good
light to safeguard eyesight and make studying
easier. The lamp your child uses for reading
or studying should have at least a 100-watt and
picferably a 150-watt bulb to provide enough
light. The shade should be wide to spread the
light, and be careful to keep any glare from
unshaded bulbs from striking the eyes.

J. M. McCarley, keeper of the Guest
House hotel in Megargel, fell on the
ice Monday and broke bis leg. He is
reported by T. L. Hilton to be doing
nicely.
Charlie (Friday) Howard is recup-
erating after having nearly “passed
out” from carbon monoxide poisoning
while working on cars in Pickard’s
Garage one day last week during the
extremely cold weather. He is re-
ported getting along nicely.
Mrs. Bennie Jo Beatty was hostess
Tuesday to the Business and Profes-
sional Women’s club at a social in her
home. Games of bridge and rummy
were played and refreshments were
served to Misses Jerry Wilhoit, Robin
Harbin. Juanita Ray and Sue Mobley
and Mesdames Eddie King. J. D. Mc-
Cracken, Arlie Campbell, C. B. Knox
and Tommy Patrick and the hostess.

Mrs. O. B. Rust Jr.,- of Wichita
Falls, visited Wednesday p. m. with
Mesdames M. M. Bradley and Aline
Smith while the farmer’s husband
made a business trip to Gxaham.

school” of the Ford Motor Co. in
Dallas Tuesday and Wednesday of
this week.

proved today after illness yesterday
and last night.
