The senior class had a hobo-
day last Saturday, May 31. It
also included a bake sale that
morning. The next hobo-day
will be on June 28. Please
contact any of the class mem-
bers if you have any jobs to
be done.
Miss Carla Ann Echols,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Echols, and Mr. Johnnie Au-
gustus Dormier, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Johnnie Dormier,
.were married last Friday night,
May 30, at 8:00p.m. inthehome
of the bridegroom’s grand-
mother, Mrs. Maggie Dormier.
Michael K. Olmstead, minis-
ter of the First Baptist Church
officiated.
The bride wore a white sa-
tin and lace street lengthdress,
a veil, and carried orchids.
Miss Kathy Colgan was maid
of honor, and Kenneth Dormier
was best man for his brother.
Assistants for the home recep-
tion were Misses Pam Moss,
Sharon Tucker, and Paula Moss.
The bridegroom is a coach
and teacher at Goree and the
bride is a senior at M. H.S.
The couple will live in Com-
merce this summer as he will
be going to school. Their
honeymoon will be in East Tex-
as.
The ladies of the Church of
Christ made their monthly visit
to the rest home in Seymour
last Tuesday evening. Cookies
and kool-aid were served and
enjoyed by all.
Mrs. Howard Colgan is im-
proved after a setback on
Thursday that was diagnosed as
a virus.
Summer school in homemak-
ing began last Monday morning
at 9:00 a.m. The group does
various things among which they
will set up the program of work
for the following year. Summer
school will last about three
weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mc-
Anally and family of Wichita
Falls, spent the weekend in the
home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Frank McAnally, Jr.
Mrs. Bill Gray visited in the
home of her daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Don Andrews and
family last weekend.
Visiting in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Murrie Mitchell over
the weekend was their son, Do-
nald, who is attending Cook
County Junior College at
Gainesville.
Mrs. M. M. Morgan returned
home from the hospital last
week.

Carla Echols was held last
Tuesday afternoon in the home
of Mrs. Odell Bishop from 3-5
in the afternoon.
Lawrence Smith, who is at-
tending Texas Tech, spent the
weekend in the home of his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam
Smith.

spent Monday in the home of
her aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Frank

a brief jaunt to San Antonio
last week. Harold is sche-
duled to register Sept. 3 for
the 1969-70 school year in Tex-
as University’s Southwestern
Medical School in Dallas. An-
other Smitson son, Homer, 1969
Archer City High School grad-
uate, is to register at the De-
Vry School of Electronics in
Dallas in July.

American Legion Citizenship
Award and the award for Senior
Oratory.

A bridal shower was given
for Dolores Schlabs in the K
of C Hall, Sunday afternoon,
June 1.
Hostesses for the affair were
aunts of the honoree, Mrs.
Tony Schlabs, Mrs. Lawrence
Schlabs and Mrs. Paul Krahl
of Scotland and Mrs. Johnny
Simons of Wichita Falls and
Mrs. George Wilde of Wind-
thorst.
The Hall was beautifully de-
corated in the bride-elect’s
chosen colors of yellow and
green with the center pieces
on the tables being of floral
arrangements of white daisies
and yellow roses.
The honoree received many
nice and useful gifts.
Dolores Schlabs and Jerry
Sumbera are to be married
June 28 in the St. Boniface
Church at Scotland. Jerry
works at L. T. V., Grand Pra-
rie and lives at Arlington.
Dolores Schlabs, daughter of

ceived her bachelor's degree
in business administration with
cum laude honors from Mid-
western University, Wichita
Falls this past Saturday ev-
ening, May 31.
Mrs. Evelyn Henson and sons,
Bobby and Tommy of Houston
spent the past weekend visit-
ing relatives in this area in-
cluding an aunt, Mrs. Paul
Schenk, Sr. and family.
Danny Nelson who had been
staying with Mrs. Schenk re-
turned to Houston with his
mother and brothers.
Mrs. Joe Hoffman and daugh-
ter, Mrs. James Meurer and
her daughter, Lisa, spent the
past weekend in Austin visit-
ing with Mrs. Hoffman's son,
Jerry and his wife and attend-
ing the graduation exercises at
Texas University, Saturday,

Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Barton,
1101 S. Ash, went to Tulsa,
Okla., Friday, May 30, to help
their youngest grandson, John
Mitchell Young, celebrate his
first birthday. They visited with
the Carl Youngs, III in Tulsa
until Sunday evening when they
returned to Archer City.

Miss Triplett Feted
With Bridal Shower

May 31, where Jetry received
his doctorate degree in philo-
sophy and major degree in Phy-
sics.
Mrs. Robert Hajovsky under-
went major surgery last week,
Wednesday, May 28, at the Shep-
pard Field Base Hospital, Wi-
chita Falls. Mrs. Hajovsky is
doing nicely and expected home
the latter part of this week.
Mr. and Mrs. James Schlabs
and children, Mike and Karen
(James is the son of the Bill
Schlabs of Scotland) lost all
their clothing, household fur-
nishings etc. by fire in the
company house on the Perkins
and Cullum lease near Archer
City last Wednesday evening.
The family was gone from
the home for the evening and
when they returned at about
11:00 p.m., they found every-
thing completely destroyed.
The family stayed with his
parents for several days and are
now staying in the home of her
parents, the John Lowack’snear
Scotland while they finish re-
modeling a house they had
moved in sometime ago.
The Bill Schlabs family also
had more experience with fire
when their wheat grain field
caught on fire Friday afternoon,
presumably started by an ex-
haust of a grain truck.
The quick action of neigh-
bors and the Windthorst Fire
Dept. helped extinguish the
fire before it destroyed very
much wheat.
Mrs. Edmund Poirot went to
Fort Worth a couple of weeks
ago where she joined her daugh-
ter and family, the Charles
Anderle family and from there
they all went to San Antonio
where Mrs. Poirot kept the
grand children while the An-
derle’s attended the Catholic
Life Insurance Convention.
The group also visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frerich
of Hondo, an uncle of Mrs.
Poirot, while they were in San
Antonio.
Mrs. Poirot had just returned
home from this trip when she
got word that her daughter,
Mrs. Anderle, was in a hospi-
tal in Fort Worth ill.
Mrs. Poirot returned to that
city and stayed with the family
for about a week and then
brought the four Anderle child-
ren home with her while their
mother is convalesing at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schle-
back of Dallas are visit-
ing Teichman relatives in this
area for several days.
Lisa Krahl, duaghter of the
Robert Krahls spent the past
weekend in Hurst, Texas with
aunts, Bernadette Schrieberand
the Eugene Anderles.

More than 60 members of
the family of Mr. and Mrs.
C. A. Lewis met Sunday at
their home, 509 W. Elm, for
a reunion. ThU was the 17th
or 18th annual get-together of
the Lewis family.
Locals spending the day with
their parents were Messrs, and
Mmes. Newt Lewis, Herman
Lewis, Bill Wright and Eddie.

Jim, Mrs. Violet Lacey, Mrs.
