Samplings from individual fields
and from gins in the area have
led pink bollworm workers in this
area to believe that one of the
largest pink bollworm populations
ever seen in this county is now
in the process of building up in
the younger cotton.
Field sampling urder the direc-
tion of R. R. Roaa, head of the
pink bollworm office in Taft, lias
shown without a doubt that die
worm count is growing daily in
the young cotton that is still stand-
ing In almost every case field
inspectors have failed to find a
single boll that was r-ot infested.
As a usual rule each boil was
supporting a population of from
one to 25 worms.
Samples of gin trash examined
by the workers out of the Taft
office have also turned up ex-
ceptionally high worm counts. One
gin in the area produced 51.00C
worms out of two bushels of trash.
In face of these growing worm
counts a large number of farmers

This leveling off of valuations tins

Bills as outlined in the Texas

which are : The Feed Control Bill
