The work load Is a little
heavier this week as we have
had fifty four persons
processed through the jail this
week, with one being booked
for forgery, three were
charged with theft over two
hundred, four was charged
with burglary, one was booked
for carrying a prohibited
weapon, two was charged with
auto theft, one minor in poss.,
eight were arrested for driving
while intoxicated, two for
illegal entry, nine were
arrested on warrants, two was
booked for violation of
probation, two was charged
with theft by check, three were
booked for disorderly conduct,
two subjects were jailed for
protective custody with one
being transferred to the state
hospital in Wichita Falls, two
were charged with assault, one
for resisting arrest, two was
booked for A.W.O.L. and
public intoxication leads the
field with a total of seventeen
arrested this week. The total at
this time in jail is forty three.
Our total prisoners wete up
some last month as we had two
hundred and thirty three
processed for the month of
August. Sheriff Jerry Burton
advised three persons were
taken lo Huntsville Prison this
week also.
MRS. BESSIE JONES
Mrs. Bessie B. Jones of
Murphy, a lifetime resident of
that community, passed away
September 3, 1975 in
Richardson. She was born
February 20, 1903 and on
January 6, 1923 she married
Henry Barton Jones, who
survives her. Mrs. Jones was
also a member of the Sachse
Christian Church.
Survivors, other than her
husband, include three daugh-
ters, Mrs. Tommie Uselton of
Hurst. Mrs. Betty Bowden of
Plano, and Mrs. Mary Duncan
of Wylie; two sisters, Mrs.
J.L. Brand of Wylie and Mrs.
O'Neal Hillin of Garland; nine
grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in
the new Harrington-Bratcher-
Dickey Funeral Chapel in
Plano September 4th. Rev,
J.W. Coots and Rev. Joe Bob
Alexander officiated. Pall-
bearers were Joe Dickerson,
Johnny Ray Jones, Frank
Bernard, Fred Mayes, Edward
Green and Paul Huston.
Interment was in Plano Mutual
Cemetery.
CLAUDE LYNN
Claude Thomas Lynn, 86, of
Dallas passed away there
August 21, 1975. He was a
certified public accountant and
song writer.
Funeral services were held
August 22 at the Trinity Oaks
Church of Christ with burial in
Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Since a boy he had been a
member of the Church of
Christ as had his family. His
father helped to build the
Church of Christ at Pearl and
Bryan in Dallas, and Claude
Lynn had preached once here
as well as attending many
services while visiting here.
He is survived by his wife
Mildred, two daughters, 7
grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren. Also he was a
cousin of Miss Ruth White of
Wylie and Mark Burns of
Dallas.

Sealed proposals, addressed to
the President and Board of
Directors of the North Texas
Municipal Water District, for
furnishing and delivering
three (3) Pumps, three (3)
Motors and Switchgear for the
proposed Shiloh Puntp Station
No. 2, will be received at the
office of the District at the
Water Treatment Plant near
Wylie, Collin County. Texas,
at 10:00 a.m. on September
16, 1975, after which time the
bids will be publicly opened
and read. Any bids received
after the above fixed time will
be returned unopened.
It la not the intention of the
North Texas Municipal Water
Distrist to enter into a Direct
Contract with the vendor to
purchase the pumps, motors,
and switchgear specified
herein. Rather, the District
and its Engineers will evaluate
the vendors’ bids and select
the pumps, motors, and
switchgear to be furnished and
installed under a separate
contract.
Proposals shall be accom-
panied by a certified or
cashier's check on a state or
national bank in an amount not
less than five percent (5%) of
the largest possible total of the
bid submitted, payable with-
out recourse to the North
Texas Municipal Water Dis-
trict, or an acceptable bid bond
for the same amount from a
reliable surety company li-
censed to do business in the
State of Texas, as a guarantee
that the Bidder will comply
with the terms set forth in the
proposal and special condi-
tions.
The right is reserved, as the
interest of the Owner may
require, to reject any and all
bids, and to waive any
informality in the bids
received.
Specifications for the Pumps,
Motors; and Switchgear for
Shiloh Pump Station No. 2 are
on file at the office of the
District and may be procured
from the office of the
Engineer, URS/Forrest and
Cotton, Inc., Consulting En-
gineers, 8700 Stemmons
Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247,
on deposit of Twenty-Five
Dollars (S25.00) per set,
payable to the North Texas
Municipal Water District,
which sum so deposited will be
refunded upon compliance
with the provisions of the
Special Conditions regarding
the return of such documents.
