4-H Girls In
Dress ftevue
Martha and Rita stermann,
4-H Gub members of Wind-
thorst, were among the 34
entries in the District 4-H
Dress Revue, held in the
Civic Center in Abilene,
Friday.
The girls, daughters of Mr.
and Mrs. Jerome Ostermann
of Windthorst, won the right
to compete after winning
first place in the county com-
petition.
Gina Hoff, also of Wind-
thorst, was mistress of cere-
monies for the revue, as she
is vice-chairman of District
Three 4-H Council.
Martha modeled a yellow
pant suit with print blouse
and received a white ribbon
in the senior division. Jud-
ging was based on 25% for
record book; 50% on the jud-
ging by the participants and
25% on the adult judge's
choice.
Rita, in the junior division,
received a blue ribbon for her
print dress, which she mod-
eled.
~Mrs. Ostermann. the girls’
pother and County Exten-
sion Agent, Lola Hestand,
accompanied the 4-H
members to Abilene.

Eighteen persons attended
the Monday meeting of the
Archer Neighborhood Action
Group with the president,
Emma Hannah, in charge.
The group met in the Archer
Service Center.
Gloria Klaras, Center co-
ordinator, explained a pro-
posed program, titled "Gre-
en Thumb,” to be sponsored
by the Farmers Union, an
organization of family far-
mers and rural people con-
cerned with what happens to
the quality of life in rural
America and to rural citizens
when they are forced to re-
tire or voluntarily retire.
A decision was made for
the Center to be closed
Tuesday, at which time a
busload of its participants,
including employees, will be
on a visit through Palo Duro
Canyon after having atten-
ded the evening presenta-
tion of “Texas”. Announ-
cement was made that the
Center will henceforth be
open between the hours of 8
a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday
through Friday.
The group voted to elimin-
ate the August meeting of
ANAG, scheduling the next
meeting for September 12, 2
p.m. at the Center.
