Entries from all over
south Dallas County
have poured in for the
27th Annual Lancaster
Christmas Parade which
will be Saturday, Dec. 6
at 1 p.m.
While all the
late-arriving entries
have not been counted,
the number is expected
to total over 100 to make
this year’s parade one of
the biggest ever.
Entries have come
from DeSoto, Duncan-
ville, and Cedar Hill as
well as from Hutchins
and Dallas. Several of
the famous Hella
Temple performing
groups will be in the
parade and a number of
county dignitaries. Chief
among the dignitaries
will be newly-elected
Dallas County Sheriff
Don Bvrd. -
The theme of this
year’s parade, “A
Cowboy Christmas” will
be displayed by the
entrants. To broaden
competition new award
categories have been
added, including most
humorous, most cowboy,
most unrelated to
cowboy, the youngest
entry, the oldest entry.,
and the entry suffering
the most during the
parade.
The parade will begin
at Lancaster high school
down Pleasant Run to
Dallas Ave. and on south
to the town square where
trophies will be
presented. The celebra-
tion will continue with
music by the Lancaster
High School Choir and
Santa Claus visiting with
his youpg fans.
