the arrival of their grandson,
Jeremy Ryan, born on Septem-
ber 6, 2002. He weighed 9
pounds 6 ounces and was 22
inches long.
Proud parents are Tim and
Staci Lednicky. He was wel-
comed home by his big brother,
Joseph Richard, age three.
Great-grandparents are
Martha Svacina of West, Velma
Rounsavall of Grand Prairie
and Curtis and Pat Surratt of
Mabnnk.

celebrate their 2nd
birthday!

years old on September 20,2002.
They celebrated by going on a
camping trip. They also cel
ebrated at their home with fam-
ily and friends on September 22.

Valerie Ann Lednicky and

October 5, 2002, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in West. The
Rev. Edward Karasek officiated.
A dinner and dance followed at
West Fraternal Auditorium.
The bride is the daughter of
Patricia Lednicky of West and
the late Joseph C. Lednicky. She
is the granddaughter of Martha
Svacina of West and the late
Henry Svacina and the late
Jerome and Agnes Lednicky.
Valerie is a graduate of West
High School and Texas A&M
University. She is employed by
Muck Fasteners in Waco.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Johnny Slovak of Ab-
bott. He is the grandson of
Tinnie Slovak of West, the late
Anton Slovak and the late Emil
and Molly Vybiral. Jim is a
graduate of Abbott High School
and is completing his degree in
exercise sports studies at Tarle-
ton State University.
The bride was given away by
her brother, Tim Lednicky, and
her mother. Emily Stillwell was
matron of honor. Kathy and Jodi
Lednicky were maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Beverly
Pustejovsky, Amy Lenart, Staci
Lednicky, Erica Owen, Jennifer
Cooper, Cindy Kubacak, Donna
Beckham, Pam Darden, Roxane
Ilutyra, Michele Kreder and
Cindy Boyse. Danielle Kazda
was flower girl.
Darrell Picha and Gary
Kramolis were best men.
Groomsmen were Tony Pustejo-
vsky, Eric Pustejovsky, Tim Led-
nicky, Richie Smith, Paul Owen,
John Stillwell, Dennis Boyse,
Morris Acker, Paul Pustejovsky,
Pat Ryan, Ray Jaska and Mike
Lednicky. Ring bearers were
Joey Lednicky and Kyle Owen.
Houseparty members were
Michele Ivy, Mindy Melasky,
Kristy Melasky, Jessica Horton
and Lacey McKenzie. Ushers
were Scott Pustejovsky, Kyle
Pustejovsky and Ray Uptmore.
After their honeymoon, the
couple will reside in Abbott.

ebrated her first birthday Sep-
tember 21, 2002 at the home of
her parents, Duane and Christie
Butler in Weatherford. She has a
brother, Dalton Ray, five years
old.
Delanie's grandparents are
Cindy and Don Oswald of Waco
and Sharon and Larry Maxwell
of Lorena. Her great-grandpar-
ents are Dorothy Moore of
Lorena, Jewell Clanton and Clo-
ver Maxwell, both of Hewitt.
Also attending the party were
her Godmother, Jennifer Ander-
son and daughter, Maddie
Anderson; her godfather, Andy
Oswald of Corinth. Also attend-
ing were Dusty Fisher of Hewitt,
Kathy Rossi of Dripping
Springs, Shae Baker and Tyler
and Taylor of Waco.
Everyone enjoyed pizza,
Coke, and ice cream. Delanie
wishes to thank everyone for the
lovely gifts she received.

Ernest and Shirley Svrcek celebrated their fiftieth anniversary
September 2, 2002. Their fiftieth anniversary celebration had been
delayed due to the birth of two great-grandchildren. Their sons and
grandchildren will honor them with a Mass and reception on Satur-
day, October 12. Mass will be at 6:30 p.m. at St Mary's Catholic
Church of the Assumption in West. Following the Mass, there will he
a reception at St. Joseph's Hall next to the church. Invitation is
through the press; all of their family and friends are invited. No gifts,
please.
Ernest Svrcek and the former Shirley Berger were married
September 2, 1952, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. The
couple are lifelong residents of West. Ernest is retired from Nemecek
Brothers, and Shirley is retired from Montgomery Wards and
currently works part-time at the Village Shoppe in West They have
two sons, Charles Svrcek and Thomas Svrcek, both of Waco. They
have four grandchildren, Karen Lopez and husband Steve of Robin-
son, Chris Svrcek, Cheryl Adams and husband Clint, all ofGholson,
and Elizabeth Svrcek of Lorena. They arc; also blessed with four
great-grandchildren, Colton and Corbin Adams of Gholson, and
Victoria and Brooklyn Lopez of Robinson.

Gunner Russell recently cel-

party at Kiddleland in Waco on
September 21. His actual birth-

Gunner is the son of Matt and
