These St. Mary's Pre-K students received certificates of completion

Deep, clear reservoirs are scattered throughout the country and
many of them hold bountiful numbers of crappie. After these fish
spawn though, they migrate into deep water and will often suspend
through Summer months. During this time, daylight fishing becomes
slow and the night time crappie actions gets serious.
By fishing the downwind side of a lake, anglers can find
concentrations of crappie. Wind currents push shad into these areas.
The ideal spot to fish here is where a channel turns out and there are
some large trees holding near a bank.

The descendants of Frank and
Karolina Urbanovsky will hold
their family reunion on July 3,
instead of the usual Father's Day.
This year the families of Vine,
Ludmilla, John, August, Frank
and Joseph, and their friends
will meet in Robstown, Texas,
joining all their cousins in that
area.
The Kocurek relatives de-
scended from Bertha
Urbanovsky, daughter of Vine
Urbanovsky, and were gracious
enough to host the gatheri ng this
year.

Robstown Community Hall at

The West Fire Department recently honored the winners in the local Fire Prevention Poster Contest.
Winners were named in both the primary and intermediate divisions. West Fire Marshal Freddy Gerik
is pictured the six winners. Standing next to him on the front row (left to right) are Katie Johnson, third
place, primary division; Kali Hunt, second place, primary division; Kevin Gaidusek, first place,-primary
division; and Staci Glatter, second place, intermediate division. Also pictured are Brittany Angelo, first
place, intermediate division; and Blaine Bassler, third place, intermediate division. First place winners
received five silver dollars while second won four silvers dollars and third received three.
