Miss Gail Annette Finn,
bride-elect of David John Sin-
Mile, was honored recently
with a personal shower at the
home of Mrs. Ern-st Moravec
ol Bellmead. Co-hostesses were
Darlene and Sherrie Finn and
Susan Sinkule.
Refreshments of cookies,
brownies and cherry drinks
were served. Special guests
were the mothers of the couple,
Mrs. Raymond Finn and Mrs.
Johnnie Sinkule.
Miss Finn was also honored
at Texas National Bank by her
co-workers with a! miscellane-
ous shower. Refreshments of
cake, mints, candy, coffee and
Punch were served.
A miscellaneous bridal show-
er was given on Oct. 7th by
friends and relatives at St. Jo-
seph’s Parish Hall in Bellmead.
The bride’s colors of pink and
orchid was carried out in the
color scheme. The refeshment
table was covered with a cro-
chet tablecloth made by the
bride’s grandmother, Mrs.
Frank Uptmore of West. Re-
freshments of tuna salad sand-
wiches, chips, mints, cake
squares, coffee and punch were
served.
Honored guests were the
mothers of the couple, Mrs.
Raymond Finn and Mrs. John-
nie Sinkule and the bride-
elect’s grandmother, Mrs.
Frank Uptmore, Sr., of West.
This Sunday, Oct. 14, a come-
and-go shower will honor Miss
Finn at the Abbott Parish Hall.
Hostesses will be relatives and
friends of the groom-elect.
Miss Finn and her fiance will
be married at 2:30 p.m. Oct.
27, at St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church in Bellmead.

Miss Bette Hanak and Ray-
mond Kupcak exchanged mar-
riage vows Saturday evening
in the Catholic Church of As-
sumption in West.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hanak, Jr.,
of West. The bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Kupcak of Waco.
Father George Doskocil of
West performed the ceremony.
Mike Archer played the organ
and Barbara Talley sang
“Somewhere My Love” and
“The Wedding Song.” Otto
Hanak III and Tommy Kolar
served as altar boys.
For her wedding the bride
chose a white silk organza
gown. Venise lace trimmed the
high neckline and bishop
sleeves. The matching lace ac-
cented with seed pearls form-
ed a panel on the bodice, the
bouffant skirt and detachable
train.
Her eamelot cap of Venise
lace interlaced with satin rib-
bon and adorned with pearl
teardrops held her fingertip
silk illusion veil.

The bride carried a cascade
bouquet of feathered white car-
hations and blue baby’s breath
centered with a white orchid.
White streamers and love knots
completed the bouquet.
Mrs. Larry Pavlicek, of Wa-
co, sister of the bride, was ma-
tron of honor. Miss Linda
Kupcak, sister of the groom
was maid of honor. Brides-
maids were Mrs. Linda Kolar,
sister of the bride, Miss Wanda
Brown, cousin of the bride, and
Miss Jeanette Hutyra.
The bridesmaids wore formal
towns of blue sheerganza. The
bodice featured a white eye-
let yolk edged with double
ruffle. The hem of the full
skirt formed a wide flounce.
For a headpiece the brides-
maids wore blue feathered
bands of flowers.
The bridesmaids carried
nosegays of feathered true blue
and white carnations, baby's
breath and leather leaf. The
streamers were of, two shades
ol blue matching their dresses.
Best man was Larry Pavlicek,
brother-in-law of the bride.
Groomsmen were Gerald Jan-
sing, Charles Kolar, brother-in-
law of the bride, Richard Lau-
bert, and Danny Fetter, cousin
of the groom. Bennie Kalins,
Douglas Vrana and Larry Ma-
tus served as ushers.
The bride and goom’s par-
ents were hosts lor a supper
and dance at the SPJST Hall
in West.
For their wedding trip, Mr.
and Mrs. Raymond KKupcak
are visiting New Orleans, La.
They will live in Waco where
she is employed at the County
Clerk’s office and he is a
salesman at Kier Building Ma-
terial in Waco.
Pre-Employment
Selling Candy
October has been designated
as “Candy Month” for the Pre-
Employment Club. They are
selling chocolate candy bars
(Crunch and Cashew* and
Sparkle Sticks. The bars are
50 cents each and the 50 cents
50c each and the sticks are five
each and the sticks are five
cents each. The money made
from this candy sale will be
used for field trips.
Field trips are usually to a
place of business, preferably a
shopping center. Students can
learn how the business is run
and also ran enjoy doing a
little shopping. Last year, the
Prc - Employment students
went to Seminary South, a
shopping center in Fort Worth.
Fort Worth is close enough for
students to make the trip on
a school bus and get back be-
fore the end of the school day.

Mrs. Helen Kubacak, R.N.,
and Ginger Kutscherousky,
LVN, on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at-
tended one in a series of doc-
tor’s lectures on cardiovascular
conditions. The subject was
“‘Medical Cardiology.” These
lectures will continue through
the month of October.
We started our October
birthday party with everyone
singing “Happy Birthday” to
Mrs. Bettie Novosad, Mrs. An-
nie Peters, Mrs. i Josephine
Weinberger and Mr. Ed Slovak.
Through the courtesy of Flow-
ers ‘n’ Things these ladies were
presented with a corsage and
Mr. Ed Slovak with a bouton-
niere. The beautiful birthday
cake Mrs. Banik brings each
month for the residents, was
carried out in Halloween colors
with little goblins and candles
all over it. Mr. Leo Miller and
the three Banik sisters enter-
tained, which we all enjoyed.
Some of the employees, friends,
and residents joined with the
children in dancing the bunny
hop and other special dances.
It was quite a sight to behold.
Mr. and Mrs. Roznos came to
the party. Mr. Roznos played
a special song on his accord-
ion for Mrs. Bettie Novosad.
Mrs. Estelle Goats brought a
pretty yellow and white cake
for Mr. Slovak. Mr. and Mrs.
Leon Slovak, the Slovaks’ son;
Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Graves,
Mr, Slovak’s granddaughter;
Mrs. Louise Duncan, and one
of the residents, Mrs. Helen
Smith, who is Mrs. Slovak's
sister, were present. We must
not leave out Mr. Miller, who
is Mrs. Slovak’s brother. It was
so nice of ail of them to come
and help Mr. Slovak celebrate
his 90tli birthday.
Mrs. Josephine Weinberger
had some of her family present
for the party. Her four sisters,
Mrs. Terry, Mrs. Annie Wachs-
mann, Mrs. Joe Wachsmann
and Mrs. Kattie Roy, Margaret
Schroeder, a cousin; Dorothy
Schroeder, Mary Wachsmann,
a niece; and last, but not least,
Miss Weinberger, daughter.
At this time we have three
patients in West Community
hospital: Mrs. Mattio Fritsch,
Mrs. Mary Orsak, Mr. Anton
Nemecek. Mrs. Cailie Snelson
returned to the home from the
hospital, Monday.
Mrs. Janie Milberger was
tile winner on game day.
Tlie items we entered in the
Heart of Texas Fair were as
follows; pillow cases, 1st place,
by Mrs. Charlotte Jantz; Mrs.
Emillie Macicek won first with
her pillow, and Mrs. Julia
Morgan won third place with
her sock rug.
The Methodist Churc h
brought the service Thursday
night with, Rev. B. Vardeman
reading scripture and a short
devotional. Mrs. Freund taught
the lesson Friday, from James,
chapter 4.

Mr. Jack Boland, minister of
the Unity of the Infinite Pres-
ence, Detroit, Mich., read the
marriage vows in the Conven-
tion Center of Redwood Lodge,
overlooking beautiful Lake
Whitney, under a canopy of
blue net and butterflies, hung
with multi-colored flowers and
flanked by tall white candel-
abras with yellow tapers.
Given in marriage by her
uncle. Steve Kramer of Whit-
ney, the bride wore an empire
dress of white sheer dotted
Swiss with satin underlay. The
dress was trimmed with pale
ribbon lace on the short puffed
sleeves and V neckline. The
cathedral train was appliquecl
with lace flowers. Her finger-
tip length veil of white illus-
ion fell from a Juliet cap of
lace embroidered with pearls.

carnations.

the bride, was matron of hon-

mony, a reception was held in
the garden area of Redwood
Lodge.

multi-colored blossoms. A
three-tiered wedding- cake and
crystal bunch bowl completed
the arrangement.
Following their honeymoon
the couple will reside in Odes-
sa, where Paul is employed by
the J. W. Cooper Construction
Company as an estimator.
