Trojanette B Team
Forwards Paula Young and
Uttl Dujka together scored 35
ints as the Trojanette junior
rsity downed the Clifton Cub-
ic B team, 51-34, Thursday,
nuary 25, in Trojan gym.
In the first quarter, West held
if ton to only five shots, Clif-
n dumping in very few at-
mpted shots. The outstanding
ctor of the contest was the
feat defensive play of the for-
lards. When the forwards were
lit able to control the ball, the
Jiards, Melanie McCartney,
;litsy Pinter, and Thelma
ilraves, were always there to in-
i|rcept a pass or, by split-second
actions, steal a loose ball.
The runaway quarter was the
ijurth, where West outscored
if ton, 23-14, to lock up the
n. Each team scored nine
lints in the second period and
ven in the third.
Paula Young, who led all
orers with 18 points hit, 65
r cent from the free throw
e, cashing in six of 10 at-
tinpts.
{Monday, Jan. 29, the Trojan-
cjtes A and B teams pulled the
vt>ol over the McGregor girls to
vfap up their third district win.
