SINTON HIGH SCHOOL COM-
MENCEMENT EXERCISES
Commencing last Friday night
and ending Tuesday night of
this week, closes the Commence-
ment exercises of the class of
1913, Sinton High School, mak-
ing the third class to graduate
from this institution.
Of the eighteen young men
and women who have attained
the highest honors this school
has to offer, some will, perhaps,
enter into a business career,
others, let us hope all, will con-
sider this only a stepping stone
to a higher and more complete
education. As a means of fight-
ing the battles of life, nothing
can compare with a liberal, ad-
vanced education. How many
times we have heard the ques-
tion, “Is he qualified for the po-
sition?” And in nine cases out
of ten the question of ‘ ‘qualifica-
tion” means simply a question
of education. An educated man,
all other things being equal,
stands head and shoulders above
the man who has not had the
opportunity o r inclination to
equip himself with a thorough
education.
The work by the students of
the graduating class, as shown
all through the exercises, was
good, a great deal of it above
the average, showing hard and
conscientious application on the
part of the students, undffl- the
guidance of teachers who are
capable and who are anxious to
bring out the best in those under
their care. x
Of the five programs rendered,
each and every one, was a suc-
cess in every particular, each

and carry out to a successful ter-
mination such a program as we
have witnessed here in the past
few days, and too much credit
cannot be given Prof. Allen and
his assistants for the work they
have done.
' With the exception of the al-
umni exercises which were held
in the club rooms over the State
Bank, all the programs were
given at the Baptist church,
which was crowded full and many
turned away at each one of
these entertainments.
The music, under the sole di-
rection of Prof. M. Peterson,
was well received and given in a
truly artistic manner. Too much
credit cannot be given the Pro-
fessor for the fine work he has
done to bring the musical part
of these entertainments up to
the Trigh standard set by the oth
er performers. Special mention
should be made of the chorus
work on Sunday morning. We

have such a talented musician
