Valentine's Day with a "bad taste”
party in the school auditorium Fri-

front door, the guests were greeted
with signs saying "Go ’Way" and

The guests willingly "forked over”
a fee of 3c and dice to be able to
play bunco. School desks were artis-

as bunco tables; but somehow they
served the purpose. Most of the

necklaces, and similar "spectacles.”
A big stick of peppermint candy
was divided between Miss Sweeny

tied for first prize, and Leroy Mar-
burger won booby prize — candy
hearts which he was scared to eat.
When the "bad taste" guests be-

a rickety home-made table, beauti-
fully draped with newspapers. The
refreshments consisted of beans,
cornbread, and onions, served on
cake tins, with a knife, and "Java"
out of tin cups. A cookie was served
if a guest proved he had taken a
bite of his onion. A community
towel wits passed around for nap-
