This unrivaled preparation has per-

London, May 21.— Hie Russian
Commissariat is working rather un-
satisfactorily. . , rr •
The Russians occupied Krajova
on Friday night aud Oltenitza on
Saturday. They will occupy Kala-
tat on the 25th.
The Circassians who landed at
Suk-um-kaleh, have arrived at the
Capitol of the Abachasian country.
The Abachasians are atraid to join
them. , . , f
The Dai ube is too high for pon-
tooning the river.
It is estimated that the lurks have
100,000 men north ot the Balkan
mountains to resist 250,000 Russians.
The Russians are bombarding
Nikopol is.
A Bucharest dispatch says eyery
day makes it more obvious that the
Russians are in no hurry to cross
the Danube.
The dispatch also says the czar s
coming to join his army was alto-
gether unexpected here. 1 he an-
nouncement created surprise and
satisfaction. lie will be accompani-
ed by czarowitz, PrinceGortzchokott
and the great diplomatic chancelloi.
The departure of the Grand Duke
Nicholis for Bucharest is postponed
in consequence of the czar s visit.
The Roumanian and Russian au-
thorities have issued an edict pro-
hibiting traffic on the Danube.
Count Andrassy has taken a de-
cided stand against the measuie.
Alsace and Lorraine will be
reinforced by sixteen thousand
German troops. This is a precau-
tionary move against any possi tie
ultramontane supremacy in France.
The Grand Duke Michael telegraphs
from Irflis, on the 20th inst., that
“along the entire coast, fromgeape
Adler to cape Pitchentchy, the Tur-
kish men-of-war are bombarding and
burning undefended and peaceful
settlements, and landing Circassian
emissaries at various points, who
seek to excite the Abichasians to
rebellion. Troops have been dis-
patched to suppress any rising.
The Russians captured at Ardabar
a Turkish Pasha and two cannons,
including a ten-inch and a number
of smaller Krump guns.
Special to Dallas herald.
Hutchins, May 21, 1877.
At twenty minutes to 11 o'clock
last evening, our quiet little village
was disturbed by the alarm of tire.
It only took a glance of the eye to
tell that it was the residence ot Dr.
J. L. Adams that was on tire. The
rapidity witn which the flames
spread, only allowed time for the
family to escape witii their lives, the
Doctor being verv badly burned in
the effort to save his children. We
fear the worst is yet to come. He
seems to be rational, though suffer-
ing the agony of ten thousand deaths
every minute, and exclaiming to his
friends: “Had I perished in the
flames my sufferings would have
been comparatively small.” He
was probably only saved tiom hav-
ing every thread of night clothing
burned from his person, by the timely
assistance of his son William, and a
man living in his yard, the loimer
being slightly burned about the lace
and hands.

Texas to be Used as a Basis of
Supply.
St. Louis, May 21.—General Ord
passed through this city to-day, en
route from Texas for Chicago, to
consult General Sheridan regarding
the anticipated Mexican invasion
from the Texas border. Officers
accompanying Ord say Lei do is
making great efforts to reinstate him-
self. Tlieie is much activity along
the Rio Grande by his partisans.
General Escobedo and Padre Vas-
quez are his chief supporters. Ler-
do evidently intends making the
United States his base of supplies
and operations, till he is strong
eneugh to make a stand in Mexico.

PILES!
How many suffer torture day after day,,
making life a burden and robbing exist-
ence of all pleasure, owing to the secret
sufferings from Piles. Yet relief is ready
to the hand of almost any one who will
use systematically the remedy that has
permanently cured thousands. No dras-
tic, violent purge, but a gentle assistant
to nature.
CONSTIPATION!
SHOULD not be regarded as a
trifling ailment—in fact nature
demands the utmost regularity ot
tne bowels, and any deviation
from this demand paves the way
often to serious danger. It is
quite as necessary to remove im-
pure accumulations from the bow-
els as it is to eat or sleep, and no
health can be expected where a
costive habit of body prevails.
SICK HEADACHE!
This distressing affliction occurs most
frequently. The disturbance of the stom-
ach, arising from the imperfectly diges-
ted contents, causes a severe pain in ths
head, accompanied with disagreeable
nausea, and this constitutes what is popu-
larly known as Sick Headache.

On May 17 the admirable tire ot our
artillery, between 3 and 6 o’clock in
the afternoon, made a breach in tie
walls. At six o’clock the Etwan,
Tiflis and Baku regiments anti the
sappers advanced to the assault,
the enemy could not withstand the
onslaught, and tied, leaving a great
number dead. At nine o’clock our
troops traversed the whole town anti
fortifications. Our troops are full ot
enthusiasm. Our loss is believed to
be one officer anti fifty soldiers .tilled,
four officers and one hundred anti
eighty sold’ers wounded.
“It is a sad thing,” Zion’s Herald

it hopes that Hayes will be good
