HALL, SCRUGGS & CO.
“The Store that Strives to Please”
Paduoah, Texas, January 1st, 1914.
To our Friends and Customers:
When the subject of our Clearance Sale was
up for discussion between myself and the clerks
in the store, I told them that this sale must
be the greatest event pulled off in West Texas
I told them regardless of the fact that crops
have been short and times are hard and all
that, we have lots of goods and are going to
make the price in this sale so low that it
will be a historic event in the mercantile an-
nals of Paducah. The year of 1913 has been a
wonderful year from many viewpoints; in point
of sales, the greatest in our whole four years
in Paducah.
How well we are carrying out these in-
structions you can judge for yourself by read-
ing these prices on this ad and for lack of
space we are only mentioning a Jew, but come
and see for yourself.
Here are oportunities for big savings on
things you need every day in the year, things
you cannot eliminate frop the expense account,
and we urge you to come take advantage of them.
You will find the merchandise exactly as re-
presented, and the prices should certainly in-
terest you.
Thanking you one and all for valued pa-
tronage in the past and' hoping to merit a con-
tinuance of the same in the future, I remain
Yours Truly,
OSCAR HALL.

gress and improvements has
been recorded in the history of

Our Clean-Up sales are somewhat
on order of the token of appreciation.
No one appreciates more than the
managmeni of this store the fact that
its success is due to the patronage of
the public, to the loyalty and support
of our numerous friends and custo-
mers. To them, in order to show our appreciation of this
splendid support, we inaugurated this wonderful value-
giving event—our Clean-Up Sale. We want to assure you
that you were never offered greater values, or as many of
them. Thus the order has gone forth to make this the
greatest event in the store’s history, to make new selling
records, to sell the merchandise, to make prices that will
move the goods and make friends—all regardless of what
the goods cost. This Great Sale Starts—
