I have about arrived at the
conclusion that we need to do
something to make our bank ac-
( t counts swell a little, and if a
! [ committee can be appointed to
i*lput us wise to something profit-
able. lawful or otherwise, I would
be in favor of such committee as
a permanent institution—like vio-
lations of the Volstead law. I
don’t think xve need anybody to
tell us what’s the matter with us.
What we need is somebody to tell
us how to get well of what w-e
already know is ailin’ of us.
Everything from the Mexican
revolution to weevils in okra seed
has been investigated during the
past few months, but if any of
the evils have been corrected so
, , , as to make times better. I have
•resident faile{J {0 fee] the effects of it. In
f*ct- 1 *et three meals nearer the
poor house every day. XX hen I
pass out of this vale of sorrow,
dried peas. Irish potatoes, etc.. I
trust that no committee will be
appointed to investigate the cause
of my demise.
