Dawson-Sanchez
MR. AND MRS. David Dawson have announced Ihe
engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter,
Jody LeAnne, to Robert R. Sanchez, Jr., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Buckley, all of Palacios. The couple will marry
Feb. 6, 1993 at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church
in Palacios. The bride-elect is a 1988 graduate of Palacios
High School and a 1992 graduate of the University of
Houston-V ictoria with a bachelor of science degree in
business administration, concentration on accounting. She is
employed by Ben H. Comiskey, Jr., CPA in Port Lavaca.
The prospective groom is a 1983 graduate of Palacios High
School.

Brian and Lynn Bowers of Angleton are proud parents of a baby
girl, Briana Raye, bom Dec. 4,1992. The new baby weighed in at 6
lbs. and 14 oz.
Maternal grandparents are Clarence and Rose Marie Filip of Lake
Jackson. Paternal grandparents are Harold and Cheryl Bowers of
Palacios and Dolly Bitde of Arkansas.
Briana Raye is welcomed home by sisters Ashton and Cecily.
TANNER WAYNE
Charles and Lauri Junck of El Maton arc the proud parents of
a son, Tanner Wayne, bom Dec. 11, 1992. The new arrival
weighed 5-lbs., 3-oz.
Tanner was welcomed home by his brothers, Adam, Justin and
Marshal.
Maternal grandparents arc T. W. and Janet Hutton of Brazoria.
Paternal grandfather is Willie Junck of Palacios.
CLARISSA DEMETRIA LLANES
Daniel and Maria Llanes of Palacios are the proud parents of a
daughter, Clarissa Demctria, bom at 5:37 a.m. Dec. 8, 1992 in
Bay City. The new arrival weighed 7-lbs., 4-oz. and was 19-
inchcs long. She was welcomed home by her brother, Daniel Jr.,
and her sister, Ann Marie.
Paternal grandparents are Demctrio Llanes of Palacios and
Julia Mena of Bay City Maternal grandparents arc Edward and
Geneva Cook of Palacios.

In wedding ceremony at First United Methodist Church
Lisa Anne Harvey, of Pala-
cios, and Cary Dwayne Moore,
of Houston, were united in mar-
riage on Nov. 28 at the First
United Methodist Church in
Palacios with the Rev. Bernard
Ritchea officiating.
The bride is the daughter of
Carroll L. and Joyce Harvey of
Palacios and granddaughter of
Clcddie and Fern Harvey of
Palacios. She is a 1988 graduate
of Palacios High School and
graduated from Texas A&M
University in 1992.
The groom is the son of Car-
lenc Moore of Houston and
Dwayne Moore of Waco and
grandson of Carl R. Smith of
Houston. He is a 1990 graduate
of Texas A&M University where
he was a member of the
R.O.T.C. Corps.
Soloist was Stephanie
Schulze of Bay City who sang
"Wind Beneath My Wings",
"The Wedding Song" and "The
Lords Prayer." Organist was
Frances Blomberg, of Palacios.
Scripture reader, Ann Herlin,
read I Corinthians 13.
Given in marriage by her par-
ents and escorted by her father,
the bride chose a gown of while
silk. The sculptured Basque
bodice and long sleeves were
adorned with iridescent sequins
and bridal pearls. The full gath-
ered skirt was accented with a
bow in the back and scalloped
lace which encircled the hemline
of the cathedral length train. Her
veil was crescent of peals and
iridescent sequins that held tiers
of white illusion.
Maid of Honor was Stacy
Stuhrenberg of Palacios.
Bridesmaids were Ann Herlin,
Sherri Harr and Marilyn Aguilar
of Palacios and Stephanie
Schulze of Bay City. Junior
bridesmaid was Sarah Beth
Moore of Waco. The flower girl
was Hannah Mann from Whar-
ton.
Serving as best man was
Randy Ward. Groomsmen were
Jay Lowery, Shannon Moore,
Mike Weaver and Kent Onckcn.
Junior groomsman was Brian
Richards of Bay City. Ushers
were Daniel Pcvcto and Matthew
Peveto of Houston, Ring bearer
was Scott Porter of Palacios.
Candlelighters were Lance
Richards of Bay City and Eric
Hudson of Houston.
Formal dresses of maroon
satin were worn by the brides
attendants and they carried bou-
quets of maroon roses and pink
tulle.
The reception and dance was
held at the Palacios Recreation
Center with music furnished by
Jon and Debbie Richards of Bay
City, with help from their two
sons, Lance and Brian Richards.
Members of the house party
were Kelli Hudon, Christina Je-
lensperger and Tracy Elliott Cur-
tis of Houston, Vanessa Hebert
Sliva of Collegeport, Cindy
O'Leary Bujnoch and Amy
Hamlin Sherrill of Bay City and
Holly Whitley Vacck of Blessing
and Bobbie Middleton, aunt of
the bride, of Bay City.
Flowers and catering for the
wedding and reception were un-
der the direction of Charles Har-
vey, Palacios Floral Service and
Melvina Nelson of Palacios.
The couple was honored with
several showers, a luncheon and
party given by friends in Palacios
before the wedding. The re-
hearsal dinner held in Weimer
Hall of the First United
Methodist was hosted by Caflcnc
Moore and Carl R. Smith. If was
catered by Shimek's Restaurant
with help from Bill and Gerry
Stuhrenberg.
After a short wedding trip; the
newlyweds will make their hbme
in Waco where Lisa is employed
as a Human Resources Coordi-
nator at the Trane Corporatidn in
Waco and Cary is a Human Re-
source Recruitment Coordinator
at T.S.T.C. in Waco.
Athena Club holds Christmas
luncheon at Peterson’s Dec. 1
The Athena Club met at
Peterson's Restaurant for their
Christmas luncheon at noon on
Dec. 1, 1992. The luncheon was
hosted by Jan Steinmeyer,
Wilma Johnson, Jean Lamont,
Margaret Lynn, Martha Foley,
Ann Choate and Lorene Treacy.
The moment of mediation was
given by Margaret Lynn. Jan
Steinmeyer told the story of the
beginning of the "CRACKER".
There was one at each plate,
which was then "cracked" by the
members.
A Love offering was given.
The membership voted on the
agencies to which the money will
be given.
The luncheon concluded with
the reading of a group of
Christmas poems by Margaret
Lynn. The poems read were: "A
Gift for Jesus"-Grace Easley,
"Splendor of Christmas''-
Katherine Erwin, "Peace be
Still"-Rocky Smith and
"Farewell the Ycar"-unknown.
