By PAT & CO.
iWhat we want to know is why
does Marshall Rogers, who lives
at Tin Top, work at the Palacios
gin, while Joe Sartain lives in Pa-
lacios and works in the gin at Tin
Top? Pill Sliva, of course, wwrks
at the Blessing gin. These facts
were disclosed by a well known
expert on (cotton) gins.
Sharkettes will meet at the «
High School Saturday at 3:30
p.m. This is very important!
Ask Betty Jane what the tem-
perature was on Tuesday afternoon
at 1:15 outside the front door of
City Hall.
We thank N. Christy and S.
White for their comprehensive con-
tribution last week. . . .
The Youth Club will have a
special meeting Thursday night
at 8 o’clock at the Chamber of
Commerce building to discuss a
proposed hayride and the election
of new officers. Don’t miss it!
Paul Treybig is hard at work,
earning money to fix up the Pon-
tiac he bought. That ought to be
some car when he gets through
with it!
The annuals are in, and at Mr.
Smith’s house. We think they’re
beautiful! The Seniors’ rings ought
to be here pretty soon, too. Guess
there are some compensations for
homework, school’s starting, etc.
Oh, back to the annuals, be sure
you have your receipt when you go
to pick yours up. The master list
got lost somehow so things are
kinda mixed up. .
Kenneth Brune’s lavendar car
is really sharp. Bobbie’s going to
have to get a new dress to match
it, she says.
Who was Benny with Mondav
night?
What makes Kathryn laugh ?
Get Betty Ann to tell you about
Levelland and about Jan and Lois.
That story is even better than
Sissy’s little tale of week before
last.
Who h&s a crush in Don? Who
has a crush on Pooka?
Susan Sanford will have re-
turned from her vacation in Louis-
iana by the time you read this.
TheV went to visit Mrs. Sanford’s
mother.

Birthday Belles Are
Entertained In Victoria
Mrs. Faye Walton of Victoria,
Texas, entertained the Bluebonnet
Birthday Belles Friday night, Aug-
ust 1, at her home celebrating her
birthday.
Mrs. Alice Wright won the door
prize and Mrs. Opal Carter (re-
tained the crown as she was se-
lected again as Birthday Queen.
Mrs. Dewanda Riddick carried
home most of the other prizes.
We missed two of our members,
Mrs. Lyda Gay Huddleston and
Mrs. Gerry Clardy who were un-
able to be there. Other members
present were Jo Leadford, Effie
Smith, Elizabeth Tanner, Tressie
Smith, Margie Johs, Lenora Hen-
dricks, Lelia Hamlin, visitors were
Mrs. Darlene Walton and Linda
Sue.
The hostess opened and admired
her many useful gifts and served
a delicious supper of sandwiches,
potato salad, tomato slices, stuff-
ed celery, congeal salad, radishes,
olives, pickles, cake, ice cream, tea
and coffee.

Clark company at ole Texas this

what Edward intends to do,
Why didn’t Betty and Berney
go to the show last Wednesday
night?
Pamela loves to watch television.
Did Tommy appreciate the pres-
ent Georgene brought him from
Huntsville? He should; he really
should.
We like both sides of the Everly
Brothers’ new record, Most people
are going ape over “My Baby
Loves Western Movies”—sorry to
say wc don't know who sings it.
How-to-be-PopuIar tip we heard
and thought worth repeating: If
you must chew gum on dates, don’t
smack or pop it or blow bubbles!
Guilty?
Where did Jon go Tuesday
night? Ponder this and other ques-
tions till next week. . . Okay?
