Last week an advertising fake
worked Comanche merchants
for about $100. He tacked a
piece of canvass on a frame 3x
5 feet and pasted a cheap en-
graviug of the national capital
in the center which’ must have
cost him forty or fifty cents.
Around this he drew square
and oblong spaces, in which he
pasted the cards of our business
men and hung ftp the affair in
three different places of the
town for an admiring public, to
gaze upon. He was a smooth,
oily tongued young man, who
had his business down to a fine

Editor Coleman Voire:
Business is moving along very
smoothly in all lines here ut
this time.
Farmers are busy getting
ready for the planting season
which is not far distant.
The acreage in cotton this
year will, we think, largely ex-
ceed that of last, which is ac-
counted for by the fact that
quite a number of new farms
are being opened,' and the old
ones in some instances are be-
ing increased.
Several cow buyers made
their appearance in our town
last week. Mr. Clark sold 60
head N>f stock cattle to Capt.
Gilleland for $0.50 per head.
That sounds better than the
five dollar talk that we have
been accustomed’ to for some
This great organ of life, when dis-
eased and neglected, leads to con-
sumption, deafness, loss of sight,

traced, are found to be in relation to

the nasal duct, the custachian tubes,
the eye, the ear, the throat, i ho
mouth, the lungs, tho stomach, and
the entire alimentary canal; it is
through this similarity of structure
that the nasal cavities arc so remark-
able for their sympathetic aud reflex
influences, therefore it docs not sur-
prise a physician to find a chronic
nasal catarrh associated with one or
more sympathetic diseases, as head-
ache, deafness, impaired vision, diffi-
culty of breathing, dyspepsia, etc. If
we hopo to remove these diseases,'wc

they originated, but if we fail at this,

help us build up a nice little
town, to satisfy the demand
made by the surrounding -ebun-
try. There is no doubt, but
capital properly invested here
would bring in a neat return.
As 1 mentioned in my other
letter to the Voice, we are re-
mote from market And'have a
crooked, rough road over which
to haul our produce.. Now, the
thing that we want is some en
terprising capital to take hold
and develop our town. A hint,
however, to the wise is said to
be sufficient, so -l will not
dwell on the subject of Bur-
kett’s possibilities more.
I leatn today that Leonard
Farmer of Cross Plaih, Calla-

community, had the misfortune
of being shot in the foot by an
accidental discharge of a pistol
We hope the' young man will
soon recover from his injuries.
