yard rushing performance by Chris Grice, snapped their five game-?
losing skid by blasting the Brazos Cougars 32-0 last week.
The victory put the Tigers at 1-5 overall and 1-3 in District 29-AA.

The Tigers could have settled for just one of those tallies and still
come out on top after the Tidehaven defense did a superb job erf
slamming the door shut on the Cougars. Brazos was held to only one
first time and chalked up an embarrassing minus 38-yards in total of-

passing.

turned to make it 26-0 on a 19-yard tally. VJ

Wilson edges Christianson to claim grid contest loot
iT
It was a battle to the finish,
but when it was all said and done
Gerald Wilson of Bay City
slipped past Palacios' Pat Chris-
tianson in tho tic-breaker to win
top honor in last week's Beacon
Football Contest.
The pair missed only three
each with Wilson claiming the
$15 for first place and Christian-
son taking the $10 second place
loot. Third place honors and $7
went to Scott Fletcher who also
finished with three misses.
In the tie-breaker round, both
Wilson and Christianson cor-
rectly predicted Palacios’ win
over Sweeny while Fletcher er-
roneously gave the nod to the
Bulldogs. Wilson edged by to
finish on top when he came the
closest to the actual margin of
victory by forecasting a 23-18
outcome for a difference of five
points. Christianson had the
Sharks stomping Sweeny 19-0.
The actual difference was four
points as Palacios won 14-10,
Wilson and Christianson both
erred as New England upset
Cincinnati and Cleveland sur-
prised Philadelphia. Wilson also
failed to predict Syracuse's win
over Penn St. while Christianson
missed Green Bays win over
Minnesota. Fletcher also missed
the wins by Syracuse and Green
Bay along with Notre Dame's
upset of Miami, Fla.

money with four wrong were Dr.
Bob Mahoney, Dennis Schuetz,
Mike Pierce and John Hunt. At
the five-miss mark were Shongh
Smith, Shan Jackson, Earcel
Hadden and Albert Garcia, Jr.^
