Presbyterian Sparks.
That does not mean sparks that cer-
tain parties chase on Sunday nights.
It means particles of fire that fly from
the hot iron when it is struck with the
hammer. The minister does not say
who is the hot iron, the people or
himself. If he does the hammering
possibly the people will be hot. The
blacksmith says. ‘‘Stand behind me
while the sparks are flying, and you
will not be hurt.” So says the minis-
ter. As long as the people stand be-
hind him, they need not care how
the sparks fly.
There is no bell at the Presbyteri-
an meeting house, so the people must
be guided by the friendly Jjells of
their neighbors; and by the'little bell
of conscience.' Be sure to be at the
meeting early, for those who art ear-
