Truce News.
Truce, Aug. 24.—A fine rain fell
here Sunday morning, the 16th,
being a great help to feed crops,
syrup cane, and fall gardens.
A revival meeting began here
Saturday night, the 15th, with
two or more preachers and sever-
al workers in the meeting, all from
Oklahoma. They have secured the
Mrs. Pickett house in which to
camp during the meeting. It is
hoped much lasting good may be
accomplished during this series of
meetings.
Many from Truce attended the
two weeks meeting which has just
closed at Newport.
Mrs. S. T. Smith is having some
repair work done on her house, a
front porch, a sleeping porch,
some outside buildings, including
cribs and a car shed built.

Will Hale of Barton Chapel is

J. W. Franklin’s syrup factory
was in operation all last week
making Texas improved honey
drip syrup again. There has been
a great demand for this home-
made syrup in the past, and bet-
ter syrup this year than ever be-
fore is assured.

To the Sheriff or any Constable of
Jack Couny—Greeting:
You Are Hereby Commanded to
summon Jean Crow by making
publication of this Citation in
some newspaper published in your
County, if there be a newspaper
publisher therein, but if not, then
in the nearest county where a
newspaper is published, once in
each week for four consecutive
weeks previous to the return day
hereof, to appear at the next reg-
ular term of the District Court of
Jack County to be holden at the
court house thereof, in Jacksboro,
Texas, on the first Monday in Sep-
tember A. D. 1931, the same being
the 7th day of September A. D.
1931, then and there to answer a
petition filed in said Court on the
29th day of July A. D. 1931, in a
suit numbered on the docket of
said Court No. 2792, wherein
Clayton Crow is Plaintiff and
Jean Crow is Defendant, and said
petition alleging that plaintiff has
been an actual bonafide inhabi-
tant of the State of Texas for
twelve months prior to filing and
exhibiting his petition and has
resided in Jack County for six
months next preceding filing of
this suit, that plaintiff and de-
fendant were married in JacK
County, on to-wit, June 20, 1928,
and lived together until about
December, 1929, when defendant
left and abandoned plaintiff, that
he was at all times kind and af-
fectionate and provided for de-
fendant to his best ability but de-
fenant within a few months
began receiving attention from
and going with other men against
plaintiff’s wishes and consent and
was unkind and cruel to him, and
her actions and conduct were of
such nature as to constitute cruel
treatment and render their fur-
ther living together insupporta-
ble; plaintiff sues for divorce,
costs of suit and general and spe-
cial relief, etc.
Herein Fail Not, but have before
said Court, at its aforesaid regu-
lar term, this Writ with your re-
turn thereon, showing how you
have executed the same.
Given Under My Hand and the
Seal of said Court, at office in
Jacksboro, Texas, this the 5th day
of August A. D. 1931.
