Graham, first place; Sean Reigle, second place; and Clint

cialist course at Lackland
Air Force Base, Texas.

It was voted to have the re-
union at the same time and

Funeral services were
held for Sidney C. Matlock,
Saturday, June 18, 1988 at
4:30 p.m. at the First Baptist
Church of Jacksboro with
Elder Walter Allee officiat-
ing.
Interment was in
Oakwood Cemetery.
Arrangements under the
direction of Hawkins Fu-
neral Home.
Sidney C. Matlock was
born July 11,1917 in Senate,
Texas. He died June 16,1988
in Wichita Falls, Texas at the
age of 70.
He joined the U.S. Army
January 27,1941. He was a
corporal and served with the
131 Field Artillery Regi-
ment, 36th Division. He,
along with many of his com-
rades, was captured March
8,1942 and was a prisoner of
war until September, 1945.
Following his Honorable
Discharge August 7,1946 he
came to Jack County.
He married the former
Marie Clay September 28,
1946 in Antelope. Following
their marriage they lived in
Post Oak.
He retired as post master
in Post Oak in 1975 and he
and his wife, Marie, moved to
Jacksboro.
Mr. Matlock was an or-
dained elder and a member
of the Little Hope Predesti-
narian Church, the Disabled
American Veterans and the
Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was also a member of the
Lost Battalion.
He is survived by wife,
Marie of Jacksboro; three
daughters: Judy McCorkle of
Jacksboro, Sherry Matlock
of Henrietta, Vickie Ann
Gunter of Pampa; one son,
David Carrol Matlock of
Wichita Falls a brother,
Harlan Matlock of Broken
Arrow, Oklahoma and a sis-
ter, Aline Moore of Jacksboro
and five grandchildren. He
was preceeded in death by
two brothers, Guy M. Mat-
lock and Lyndall Matlock.
