Jacksboro's mayor and
board of aldermen met in
regular session Tuesday
June 14 and voted unani-
mously to immediately initi-
ate condemnation proceed-
for the Lost Creek Reservoir
project.
This action came after
land purchasing agent Phil
McCormick reportedly told
the board during a closed
portion of the meeting that
negotiations between him-
self and landowner Dan
Davis seemed to have broken
down.
The motion to seek con-
demnation was made by
Alderman Vernon Black,
seconded by Alderman M.R.
"Windy" Thurman, and car-
ried unanimously.
Ingram Gafford was re-
turned to his position as
mayor pro-tem.
The tentative budget sub-
mitted by the Jack County
Appraisal District was ac-
cepted, with Black casting
the single dissenting vote.
The board voted to pay the
city's bills and heard activity
and tax collection reports
before adjourning.
