JV Tigers Crunch
Aubrey 41-6
The Jacksboro Junior Var-
sity continued their winning
streak by blasting The
Aubrey Chaparrals, 41-6.
The Tigers dominated the
Roadrunners in all areas.
The Tigers accumulated 342
total yards with 14 first
downs. A strong Tiger de-
fense held Aubrey to 87 total
yards with only 14 first
downs.
Eddie Massengale, show-
ing great running ability, led
the Tiger offense with 7 car-
ries for 142 yards. Eddie
scored two touchdowns for
Jacksboro. One T.D. was
made on a 57 yard run and
the second T.D. came from a
33 yard run.
Earnest Massengale also
has a great game against
Aubrey. Earnest carried the
ball 6 times for 103 yards.
Earnest out ran Aubrey for
79 yards to score a Tiger
touchdown.
Freshman Brian Forbus
continued the outstanding
play by scoring 2 touch-
downs. Forbus carried the
ball in the end zone from the
11 yard line and the 1 yard
line. Brian handled the ball 7
times for 46 yards.
Carl Pierce finished the
scoring for the Tigers by
charging to the goal line from
the 3 yard line. Pierce had 9
carries for 34 yards.
John Gilbreath kicked 3
point after touchdowns,
while Chad Diden added a 2
point conversion on a pass
from Quarterback Chris Jos-
lin.
Several alert Tigers recov-
ered Aubrey fumbles. They
were Chad Diden, Eric
White, Eric McDaniel and

Signal Lights Installed
Wednesday Afternoon
Jacksboroites got their
first taste of street lights at
home here shortly after noon
Wednesday. Two control
lights were erected on main
street, one at the intersec-
tion of West Belknap and the
other at Archer Street.
White lines have been
painted on the streets indi-
cating where the motorist is
to stop and where the pedes-
trians are to walk. Detailed
instructions have not been
released by the city law en-
forcement body at this date.
City officials have been
working on same and they
will be made public at a later
date.
Fire Department Meeting
The Jacksboro Volunteer
Fire Department held their
regular meeting Monday
night at the new fire hall,
Assistant Chief R.L. Hen-
derson, presiding. Minutes
of the last meeting read by
Secretary C.C. Hawkins.
W.L. Hicks was elected
captain of Co. No. 2, to suc-
ceed Capt. C.E. Putnam who
asked to be retired after 26
years of service.
Henderson Horton also
asked to be retired after 28
years of service. These men
retired from active duty but
are put on the inactive list.
Dustin Dawes.
Outstanding defensive
tacklers were Brian Forbus
and Dustin Dawes. Offen-
sive line standout was Joe
Bob Sherrod.
The JV Tigers will be idle
Thursday, October 19 th., but
will resume action at Tiger
Stadium against Pilot Point
on Thursday, October 26th.

Eugene and Sadie Weldon
of Jacksboro are proud to
announce the birth of their
son, Jacob Kort, bom Sep-
tember 29, 1989 in Graham
General Hospital. Jacob
Kort weighed 7 pounds 11
ounces and was 211/2 inches
long.
Maternal grandparents
are Jerry and Fannie Logan
of Aledo. Paternal grandpar-
ents are Gail and Shirley
Weldon of Jacksboro. Mater-
nal great grandparents are
jQhnnie and Ann Logan and
great great grandmothers is
Beuras Ann Atwood all of
Graham. Paternal great
grandparents are Lorene
Stowe of Graham, and
Emma Lee Nabers of Mem-
phis.

the first Ordinances re-
corded for the City of

City of Jacksboro.
On this the 29th day of
August, A.D. 1921, the City
Commission of the City of
Jacksboro, Texas, convened
in regular session at the
regular meeting place at the
Mayor's office, all four
thereof, to-wit: E.L.
Douglass, the mayor, and
A.E. Sewell and B.C. Thomp-
son, commissioners, being
present; and among other
things the following proceed-
ings were had:
It was moved by Commis-
sioner A.E. Sewell, and sec-
onded by Commissioner B.C.
Thompson, that there be
submitted to the qualified
voters of said city, who are
property tax payers therein,
the motion for the issuance of
the bonds of the said city in
the amount of $65,000.00 for
the purpose of providing
funds for constuction and
installation of sewer system
for said city, the election to be
held on Monday, October
3rd, A.D. 1921, and the mo-
tion carried by the following
vote: Both commissioners
voting Aye and none voting
No.
Thereupon the following
Election Order was adopted:
"Whereas, the City Com-
mission of the City of Jacks-

Therefore, Be it ordered by
the City Commission of the
City of Jacksboro, Texas,
that an election be held oh
the 3rd day of October, A.D.
1921, at the court house in
Jacksboro, Texas, at which
meeting the following propo-
sition shall be submitted:
"Shall the city Commis-
sion of the City of Jacksboro,
Texas, be authorized to issue
the bonds of the city of
Jacksboro in the sum of
sixty-five thousand dollars
($65,000.00) in sixty-five
bonds of one thousand dol-
lars ($1,000.00) each, one
bond payable and maturing
on each of five years from six
to ten years, respectively,
from the date thereof, and
two bonds payable and ma-
turing on each of the thirty
years from eleven to forty
years, respectively, form the
date thereof, bearing inter-
est at the rate of six per cent
per annum, payable annu-
ally; and to levy a tax suffi-
cient to pay the interest on
said bonds and create a sink-
ing fund sufficient to redeem
them at maturity, for the
purpose of providing funds
for the construction and in-
stallation of a sewer system
in said city, as authorized by
Chapter 1, Title 18„ R.S.
1911, and Chapter 9, Gen-
eral Laws passed at Regular
session of the 37th Legisla-
ture of the State of Texas,
and the consitution and laws
of the State of Texas;
"The said election to be
held at the court house in
said City of Jacksboro; and
J.A Hensley is hereby ap-
pointed manager of said elec-
tion and R.K. Stewart a
judge thereof;
The said election shall be
held under the provisions of
said Chapter 1, Title 18, R.S.
1911, and Chapter 9, Gen-
eral Laws passed at the regu-
lar session of the 37th Legis-
lature of the State of Texas,
and only qualified voters
who are property taxpayers
of said city shall be permit-
ted to vote;
"All voters who favor the
proposition to issue the
bonds shall have written or
printed upon their ballots
the words, "For the Issuance
of Bonds" and those opposed
shall have written or printed
upon their ballots the words
"Against the Issuance of
Bonds".
"The manner of holding
said election shall be gov-
erned by the laws of the State
regulating general election;
"A copy of this order,
signed by the Mayor of the
City of Jacksboro, attested
by the City Secretary of said
City, shall serve as a proper
notice of said election;
The mayor is authorized
and directed to have said
notice published in some
newspaper of general circu-
lation published in said City
and to cause same to be
posted at three public places
in said city for at least thirty
full days prior to the date of
said election."
And it was moved by com-
missioner, A.E. Sewell, and
seconded by commissioner
B.C. Thompson, that there
be submitted to the qualified
voters of said city, who are
property taxpayers therein,
the proposition for the issu-
ance of the bonds of said city
in the sum of Five thousand
dollars ($5,000.00) for the
purpose of providing funds
for the extension of the wa-
terworks of said city, the
election to be held on the 3rd
day of October, A.D. 1921;
and the said motion carried
by the following vote: Com-
missioners A.E. Sewell and
B.C. Thompson voting Aye
and no one voting No.
Thereupon the following
election order was adopted:
"Whereas, the City Com-
mission of the city of Jacks-
boro deems it advisable to
issue bonds of the said city

Annual Halloween Carnival
The Lions Club is again
hosting the Halloween Car-
nival this year.
If your club or organiza-
tion is interested in having a
booth at the Halloween Car-
nival please submit the fol-
lowing information in writ-
ing: 1. Name of club or or-
ganization, 2. Choice of ac-
tivity booth and if you need
electricity for your booth, 3.
Name, address and phone
number of representative of
the club or organization.
Booth registration should
be made no later than Fri-
day, October 20.
All money raised from
your booth will belong to
your club. Your club will be
responsible for setting up,
taking down and operating
your both during the carni-
val. Each booth will need to
be under adult supervision.
