The Rev. Chester Skelton
preached at the Voss Baptist
Church Sunday. Subject of the
| sermon was The Resurrection
of Christ. Scripture reading
was from St. Matthew’s Gospel.
Children visitors at the Sunday
morning service were Ricky
and Doug Keeling. They came
with their grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Doile Wheeler.
Jimmy Don and Robin
Steward came to church with
their° grandmother, Mrs.
George Steward. Other visitors
at the service were Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Thompson of Mid-
land, their daughter Lori and
infant son James. Richard
Throgmorton of Austin was
present at church also.
There was an Easter egg
hunt after the church service
for the small children.
There was Sunday School at
the Voss Methodist Church
Sunday morning and an Easter
egg hunt after Sunday School.
Visitors at the Methodist
Church were Mr. and Mrs.
James Steele, Shanna Lee and
David Allen of Granbury, Mr.
and Mrs. Allen Turner, Melissa,

family from Abilene, also
June's father and mother from
Ballinger were present in the
Pyburn home.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ander-
son and Leslie ate Easter
Sunday dinner with Marie’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther
McClellan. Alan Anderson is
visiting his grandparents, the
Lester Andersons, here at Voss
this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner
went to Granbury to visit the
Jim Steeles on Monday of this
week. They stopped by for a
visit in Stephenville with
Susanna's cousins, Mrs. Della
Harriss and Miss May Derrick.
They arrived back home Thurs-
day morning.
1 accompanied my daughter,
Virginia Jamison, to San
Angelo Tuesday morning and I
visited briefly with cousins,
Leslie and Lena Cothran, while
in San Angelo.
The April showers have
transformed our surrounding
area into a vibrant green. The
first few weeks of spring were
sad for us after an almost
rainless winter and the showers
were passing us by. But this
has changed. The showers have
brought us hope that rains will
continue to bless us.
Guests in the home of Mrs.
Julia Ja,mison on Easter Sun-
day were Mr. and Mrs. Buck
Jamison, Mr. and Mrs. Truitt
Mitchell and baby Mystie, Mr.
and Mrs. Dick Jamison and
Chris, Mr. and Mrs. James
Hatner and Jimmy, Mr. and
Mrs. Roy McCorkle and daugh-
ter Jamie, with a friend Chris
Moore, also Gerald Jamison and
wife Debbie.
Mrs. Otis Throgmorton and
daughter Mrs. Harold Skelton
of San Antonio were shopping
in Coleman on Saturday before
Easter Sunday.
Naturally spanking doesn't
help much in this soft-handed
age.

I am presently serving in my
second term of office as
Commissioner of Pet. 3.
I have enjoyed working with
the people in Coleman County
and have tried very hard to
perform the duties of this office
in a fair and impartial manner.
I am 49 years old, the son of
Mrs. Mary Alice Gann Stephen-
"•son and the late Ike Stephenson
of Leaday. I am married to the
former Dorothy Finlay and
have three children, David, 21,
Marilyn, 19, and Shirley 13.
I am a veteran of World War
II having enlisted in the Navy
•at the age of 17, achieved the -
rank of 3/C Petty Officer and
served overseas in the Philip-
pine Liberation.
I've had about 25 years
experience in road building and
heavy machinery. Eighteen
years of this has been with
Coleman County Pet. 3.
I earnestly solicit the vote
