C.T.C.C. In Bwd.
Commencement exercises were
held for Central Texas Commercial
College on September 19, 1984 in
Brownwood at the Adams Street
Community Center. Michele Bed-
dow, vice-president of Citizens Nat-
ional Bank in Brownwood, delivered
the address to 24 graduating stu-
dents.
Four students from Coleman
were among the graduating class.
Diplomas were awarded to: Jan
Hambright, computerized account-
ing; Natalie Gutierrez, computeriz-
ed accounting/word processing;
Naomi Ramirez, executive secre-
tary; and Penny Smith, career
secretary.
Mrs. Jane Blackstock, CTCC Ad-
ministrator, officiated the ceremony
before 200 relatives and friends.
Following the commencement exer-
cises, cake, punch, and nuts were
served.

Coleman High Bluecat Band Boos-
ters have been busy this fall, and
one of their projects was “sprucing
up" the concession stands at Huf-
ford Field before the first football
game.
Boosters bought the paint and
volunteers did the painting on the
buildings. Formica and labor were
donated for the countertops, and
metal bars were placed on the back
doors of the stands as a security
measure.
New signs were painted by Joe
and Faye Faries, Roberta Rider,
and Maggie Carroll.
Menus at concession stands this
year list hamburgers, French fries,
burritos, Frito pies, doughnuts,

Thursday night, October 11, the
Boosters are sponsoring a homecom-
ing dinner featuring turkey, dress-
ing and the trimmings, to be held at
the Church of Christ Family Life
Center. Tickets are $3.50 for adults
and $2.50 for children.

Shyler Farley winning the Baby Boy
Sunburst Baby Pageant in Abilene,
the name was incorrectly rpelled

BYW Meets State
Mission Goal
Baptist Young Women met in the
parlor of First Baptist Church on
Thursday, October 4. Nan Moses
conducted the business portion of
the meeting. The group’s goal of $73
for State Missions was passed.
Plans for the BYW enlistment
luncheon to be held in the church
fellowship hall on October 20 were
made. The luncheon will be from 11
a.m. to 1 p.m. on that date, and
interested women are invited to
attend. The nursery will be open
for mothers wishing to bring their
children. Mothers will need to bring
a sack lunch for their children in the
nursery.
Carolyn Payne gave a book re-
view about Lottie Moon, then
members decorated cans for the
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in
December.
Names of missionaries were hand-
ed out in the shape of moons and
Sandra Blake read I John 2:18-29
and Janet Hardin led the closing

prayer.
Next meeting will be October 18
