Local Oil and Gas News
EP Operating
Flowing 1,925,000 CF gas
per day on a 24/64 in. choke,
the No. 12 Durham was
completed in Jack County's
Boonsville Field by EP Oper-
ating of Dallas.
Drillsite is six miles south-
east of Cundiff.
It was drilled to 5,750 ft.
total depth and will produce
from a perforated interval in
the Bend Conglomerate at
5,473 to 5,670 feet into the
wellbore. The absolute open
flow rating was 2,288,000
CFD and the tubing pressure
registered 565 PSI.
The location is in a 2,080
acre lease in the L. L. Mc-
Kinley Survey.
Lufkin Production
A Wichita Falls based op-
erator has staked location for
the No. 1-ABloodworth, a de-
velopmental well to be lo-
cated six miles east-south-
east of Antelope. With pro-
jected total depth of 1,000
feet, the well is in a 1,000
acre lease in the Jack County
Regular Field, William
McDonald Survey. The op-
erator is Lufkin Production.
Lynn Creek Production
The No. 12 Reagan-Mercer
et al, a 500 ft. developmental
well, is scheduled to be
drilled in the Jack County
Regular Field. Lynn Creek
Production of Dallas is the
operator. The well will be
spudded in a 66 acre lease six
miles northeast of Jermyn in
the TE&L Survey.
EP Operating
EP Operating of Dallas
has re-completed the No. 1
Craft Water Board Unit #13
for dual-zone production in
Wise County's Boonsville
Field five miles northwest of
Balsora. Location is in a 352
acre lease in the ft. Edwards
Survey.
From an upper zone in the
Caddo Formation, it flowed
40,000 CF gas on a 16/64 in.
choke and was rated 109,000
CFD on absolute open flow.
A lower zone in the Bend
Conglomerate showed po-
tential to flow 534,000 CF
gas daily on a 16/64 in. choke.
The open flow rating came in
at 850,000 CFD.
The two production inter-
vals are 4,590 to 4,600 and
5,082 to 5,086 feet into the
wellbore.
The original operator was
Lone Star Production. The
well was originally com-
pleted in 1958 as a dual pro-
ducer with total depth of
5,770 feet, and was re-com-
pleted in 1975 with plugback
to 5,550 feet. EP has now
plugged the hole back to
5,185 feet.
Mitchell Energy
Mitchell Energy of Hous-
ton is planning to conduct a
re-entry operation at the No.
6 D.W. Newsom in Wise
County's East Risch Field. It
is located two miles north-
west of Boonsville in a 304
acre lease in the J. J. Gholson
Survey.
The same operator origi-
nally completed the well in
1987 at 5,800 ft. total depth
and plugged the hole back to
4,300 feet.
Osborn Heirs
Young County's East Gra-
ham Field gained a new pro-
ducer when Osborn Heirs of
San Antonio completed the
No. 2 Cheney three miles
east of Graham.
The well indicated ability
to flow oil at the rate of 37
barrels per day on a 5/64 in.
choke, plus 17,000 CF
casinghead gas. It was taken
to a 4,567 ft. bottom and will.
produce from a set of perfora-
tions in the Mississippian,
4,556 to 4,566 feet into the
wellbore.
The operation is in a 158
acre lease in the Porter Sur-
vey.__
E.P. Reynolds
E.P. Reynolds of New-
castle has completed a
plugback operation at the
No. 1 Bub Creel, in Young
County's Beverly Field. The
well is located nine miles
west-northwest of Belnap in
a 120 acre unit in the TE&L
Survey.
The well indicated poten-
tial to pump ten barrels of oil
daily, plus 6,000 CF casing-
head gas. Production will be
from perforations in the
Bend Conglomerate, 4,360 to
4,367 feet into' the wellbore.
The original operation was
completed by the same op-
erator in March 1988. It was
declared a dry hole, with
bottomhole at 4,610 feet.
Reynolds has plugged the
hole back to 4,405 feet.
Dallas Production
Dallas Production of Dal-
las has filed first production
figures on a new oil well in
the Northwest Strawn Field,
Palo Pinto County. The No. 1
Crawford "A" showed poten-
tial to flow 82 barrels of oil
and three barrels of water
daily on a 10/64 in. choke.
