VETERANS
ADMINISTRATION
Editor’s Note: Veterans and
their dependents are asking
thousands of questions con-
cerning the benefits their
Government provides for them
through the Veterans Admin-
istration. Below are some
representative queries. Addi-
tional Information may be ob-
tained at any VA office.
Question—Is the sale of VA
repossessed homes limited to
veterans only?
Answer—No. Anyone who
qualifies may purchase these
homes whether they are vet-
erans or non-veterans.
Question—I will attend
college this fall under the G.L
Bill. When can I expect my
first check?
Answer—VA cannot state
an exact date. When VA re-
ceived the enrollment certi-
fication from the school, it
generally will require from
four to six weeks to process
it for payment.
Question—Can a veteran
who has $10,000 NSLI and
later becomes service-con-
nected for disability also be
eligible for RH insurance?
Answer—No. A veteran can
carry only $10,000 worth of
government life insurance.
However, if a veteran is eligi-
ble for RH and wishes to sur-
render his present policy, he
may replace it with RH. He
must apply for RH within one
year from the date of his ser-
vice-connection rating.

Dr. John T. Robinson
Prominent Physician
Dies In Jacksboro
After a long illness of sev-
eral years, Dr. JohnT. Robin-
son died at hishome in Jacks-
boro Tuesday afternoon of the
14th.
The funeral services were
conducted by the Masons, of
which lodge Dr. Robinson was
an honored member for many
years. Rev. J. A. Mathews
preached the funeral sermon.
The interment took place in
Oakwood cemetery imme-
diately after the service.
Dr. Robinson was one of
the pioneer citizens of Jacks-
boro, having come here when
a young man, with his mother
and older brother, the late
Judge James R. Robinson, who
was for several years pre-
vious to his death,’a resident
of Lubbock. During his college
years Dr. Robinson was ab-
sent from Jacksboro, but with
that exception he had almost
continually resided in Jacks-
boro ...
In the death of Dr. Robinson
the county loses one more of
the few pioneers who were here
in the days when the Indians
came and vent as they chose,
without molestation. He leaves
his wife and three sons and one
daughter, Jim-Bob, Hugh T.
and Byron Robinson, and Mrs.
K. L. Buckner, all of whom
were here at the funeral. He
also leaves many old time
friends in whose families he
had been the physician.
