leave Thursday morning and
return home Saturday after-

Communion
Donna Kay and Donny Kav
Finn of lakeview recently made
their First Holy Communion at
St. Joseph's Catholic Church in
Bellmead.
A reception honoring all the
Firsi Communicants, their par-
ents and relatives was held at
the Parish Hall after Mass,
where a beautiful decorated
cake inscribed with "Congratu-
lations First Communicants”
was served, with punch and
coffee.
Parents of the twins are Mr.
ind Mrs. Donald Finn; grand-
parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Raymond Finn, and Mr. and
Mrs. Homer Prokisch of Waco.

Queen Dance
The West KJT and KJZT
Queen Dance will be held
Sunday April 27, 1975 at the
SPJST Hall from 4 to 10.
The social begins at 4 o'clock,
with sandwiches, pies and
cakes being sold.
The Queen candidates are
Betty Pavlas. Angie Sykora.
Monica Kueera and Lisa Bez-
dek. The dutchess candidates
are: Amv Kauschuber. Sherri
Snapka and Debbie Laubert.
You can purchase a ticket for
the social and dance from
anyone of the candidates.
Girl Scout Troop News
Cadettes of the Bluebonnet
Council enjoyed a weekend trip
to San Antonio April 4-6. Five
girls and one leader from Troop
73 of West left Friday morning
and stopped in Austin where
they visited the Capitol and saw
the House and the Senate
Chambers. They also saw Gov.
Briscoe and visited his office
and toured the I.BJ Library.
That afternoon they arrived
in San Antonio where they met
some 200 other Cadettes at the
Travel Lodge Motel where they
spent the weekend. Friday-
night they ate a delicious
Mexican supper at the Casa Rio
and enjoyed a walk along the
San Antonio River.
Saturday morning after a
buffet breakfast at their motel
they visited the Alamo and the
San Jose Mission where they
ate a picnic lunch. }n the
afternoon they visited the Texas
Cultural Center on the Hemis-
fair grounds. That evening at
the motel they enjoyed songs
and skits presented by troops
from different towns. Later
they enjoyed a night boat ride
on the river.
After a Sunday morning
buffet and closing ceremonies,
they said good-byes to their
friends and returned to their
homes. Scouts from West who
attended the event are: Anne

April 12th the 6th. grade
Juniors spent the day at Camp
Adire working on our troops
own badge. They are the first
girls from West to complete this ’
badge. We are proud of our
girls.
April 17th. the Scout leaders
had day camp training at K.C.
Park making plans for a very
good day camp for the girls the
first week in June. Although it
rained all morning, the day was
very rewarding. From Hillsboro
were Norma Brown, Linda
Mitchell. Lois French. Jan
Sulak, and Cherly Fagle; from
West were Pat Kusler, Wilma
Richtner, LaDell Stabbe. Bettye
Tucker. Loretta Wernett, and
Loretta Drews.
April 19, the fifth grade
Juniors invited us to attend
their bike hike. They had made
saddlebags from legs of blue
jeans and denim material,
painting pictures on them. 41
girls and 7 adults enjoyed the
day at KOA. The bike hike was
successful with no one hurt.
The Seniors will attend the
senior convention late in April
for a planning'session.
The Brownies will be having
an outdoors session April 26 to
learn basic camping skills.

Assumption in West was the Matus and Miss Pam Wolf, all

historically gala events sponsored
by The Historic Waco Founda-
tion.
Friday evening, April 25,
Central Texas history comes alive
under the excellent guidance of
the Baylor University Drams
Department, highlighted by the
crowning of the Queen of the
Cotton Palace. King Cotton's
court, and that of his Queens, also
includes Waco Princesses, South-
west ares Duchesses and other
dignitaries. Immediately follow-
ing the Pageant, Royal Court
members and visitors mingle in a
dazzling Court reception.

morning on the Brazos River
Festival and Pilgrimage itself.
Sponsored by the Historic Waco
Foundation, the Pilbrimage
began 14 years ago in an effort to
raise funds for the support of
Waco's historic museum homes.
In 1967, the affair was enlarged
to include the Brazos River
Festival.
Growing annually, the Brazos
River Festival, typically, is an
outdoor art sale and family
carnival. Judging from past
records of attendance, it is All aboard again to ride past

married Friday evening in Im-
maculate Heart of Mary Church
in Abbott. Rev. W. Pechal of-
ficiated. Mrs. Dorothy Kueera
was organist and Mrs. Robert
Hessel and Mrs. Ervin Laubert
sang.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Bazant of
West and the bridegroom is the
