Oak Ridge Manor recipient
of five-star ranking for quality
SPECIAL TO THE BULLETIN
news@brownwoodbulletin.com
Brownwood s Oak Ridge Manor
earned the Nursing Home Compare
5-Star Rating from the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
earlier this month.
The CMS Five-Star Quality Rating
System rates the nation s skilled nurs-
ing facilities on a 1- to 5-Star scale,
based on the results of onsite surveys
to determine their compliance with
federal and state regulations during a
12-month period.
Facilities are rated on the results of
their performance in complying with
health care standards, staffing and
quality measures. Only the top 10
percent of nursing homes are eligible
for the Five-Star Rating. Under the
CMS Five-Star Quality Rating System,
5-Stars equals much above average.
The results are an effort to pro-
vide transparency and accountability
across the industry. The intent of the
system is to provide consumers ad-
ditional support in making educated
choices on Skilled Nursing Facilities.
The ratings are based off the data the
CMS receives from each facility. The
rankings reflect federal criteria and
are posted at http://www.medicare,
gov/nursinghomecompare/search.
html.
Oak Ridge Manor is located 2501
Morris Sheppard Drive in Brown-
wood. For additional information con-
tact the administrator, Cindy Rodgers,
