Rosary rally coming
REFUGIO - A rosa-
ry rally will be held for
“Our Lady of Fatima”
on the grounds of St.
James Church at noon on
Saturday, Oct. 12.
These rosaries will be
held all over the world at
the same time in honor
of the 96th Apparition
Anniversary of Our Lady
of Fatima on Oct. 13,
1917, in Fatima, Portugal
where she told the three
little children it would
be her last apparition
because a great war was
about to happen.
“These rosaries are very
special because they are
prayed for world peace
and for many other spe-
cial intentions for your
families,” said Lillie Jaso,
organizer. “Please try
to come, and bring your
lawn chairs,” she said.
Union Baptist Homecoming
REFUGIO - The Union Baptist Church of Refugio
will celebrate the 80th Church Homecoming at 3:30
p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.
The celebration is a time to consider reflectively the
faithfulness of our God in protecting and providing
for His people. The theme is “The Solid Rock” - Luke
6:48-49.
The event also affords an occasion to recall the his-
toric pilgrimage of God’s people to the place they are
today.
Special guests for the celebration are the Rev.
Anthony Franklin and the Union Baptist Church
Family of Fannin, along with special guest soloist
Bro. Larry Griggs of Christian Hope Baptist Church
of Houston.
Be a part of the celebration and reflect on the past,
present and the future of what the Lord has done, is
doing and will do in the lives of His people.
A Cappella at Goliad Park
GOLIAD - A Cappella
Corpus Christi performs
“A World of Wonder” in the
historic chapel of Mission
Espiritu Santo De Zuniga
at Goliad State Park at
2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.
12. A special selection of
songs spanning time and
place will be performed.
A Cappella Corpus
Christi is under the
artistic direction of
Arlene Long, an assis-
tant professor at Texas
A&M University-Corpus
Christi. The group was
established in 2011 as
a traveling vocal group,
composed of experienced
singers with the desire
to achieve artistry as a
group rather than as solo-
ists.
